How often do you wax your underarms? Just curious because I just started waxing a few months ago, and I feel everything grows back within a week or two. I thought it was supposed to keep you hairless for 3 to 4 weeks. I don't want to go back to shaving though because I get ingrown hairs and it gets red and itchy
Also what do you girls do inbetween waxes? When it gets too hairy do you just wear short sleeves instead of tank tops? Did anyone ever forget they were hairy and end up wearing a tank top in public? I did that once. Gross.
Sorry if this sounds strange. I had a few glasses of wine.
Re: Under Arm Waxing
[QUOTE]Wow. I'm impressed that people do this regularly. I got it done for my wedding and I'll probably never do it again. It hurt more than a bikini wax (to me) and it turns out my skin is too sensitive there. I had bright red skin for a few days. :-(

The first time I did it, I had to look in the mirror because I was convinced I had ripped all the skin off. It must have killed the nerve endings because ever since then, I haven't felt a thing when I wax (actually, I Nads).
OP - I have very thick dark hair, and very fair skin so I wax - even seconds after shaving you can see the dark hair beneath the skin. The hair comes back after about a week or two even after a decade of doing this, but it does grow back in very fine.
[QUOTE]I heard waxing your underarms causes you to bleed... Is that true?

I've never bled before when waxing my underarms. Every once in a while when I'm plucking the little stubborn hairs I'll accidentally pinch my skin and I might bleed a bit but never from waxing itself.
[QUOTE]You can bleed from waxing, if the hair being pulled out pulls a bit too hard form the pore (not sure what the skin underneath where the hair attached is called). It's pretty normal. Also, a hair cycle does last 4-6 weeks, but usually people have several different sets of hair cycles, so the one you wax won't grow back for 4 weeks, but a different cycle (ie, a different hair) will be at a different point in its cycle, so that one may appear after a couple of weeks or so.

If that's the case would it be better to just let your armpit hair grow out once so all the strands could be pulled out in the same cycle?
I cannot recommend this option enough. I have an Emjoi epilator. If you are already used to waxing there you won't find it painful.
I don't even feel it anymore. Just kind of a plucking sensation.
