  A lot of girls use Sheryl Kelm. It's who I used and I was very happy with my alterations.

  I just went to a girl in DC who has done costume design for various play companies.  She was really no-nonsense, yet still seemed very professional.  Disclaimer: she hasn't actually done work on my dress yet, but she gave me an estimate for everything I want done, which seemed reasonable.  I got her info from a yelper whose dress alterations were butchered by the bridal salon she used, and this seamstress fixed everything with just a few days before her wedding.  Email me at hoiyee.lam@gmail.com if you want her info- I'm not sure if she wants her private email address posted for the world to see.

  I am using Diana Adams as well. When I emailed Sheryl a few months ago for my May wedding she was already booked.
