Hello! New to board.

This is my first time on this board.  I'm from Mpls, but we've decided to have our wedding in ND because my boyfriends family is from there.  This will be my 2nd wedding, and his first.  We are not officially engaged yet, he wants to "surprise" me with the ring, even though we've talked about the wedding in lentgh.  We are looking at June or August of next summer.  I will be asking lots of questions since I am not familiar with ND or the Bismark/Mandan area.  Thanks in advance!     Welcome & Congratulations! I too am from Mpls while BF is from Fargo, I wish the ND board was more active but it doesn't seem to be!

    Congratulations to both of you!! You're right this board is not very active but I'll try to answer as many questions as I can for you. I grew up in Mandan but have since moved to Fargo so I know both of those areas pretty well. Hope I can help with any questions you have. Smile

    I too wish our ND board was more active :(
    Sort of depressing, I know there has to be more ND brides out there lol

    congratulations to everyone! this is my first post... i have been on this site many times but i had never noticed a board for north dakota weddings alone! cool! I live in Bismarck now so i can try to help as much as possible! Let me know if any one needs anything and best of luck planning to all of you!

    Congratulations! My fiance and I live in Chicaog but are getting married in Fargo (I'm from there).

    We have a lot planned already, but are looking for a dj and someone to do our cake (possibly cupcakes) so any suggestions are welcome!

    I also wish this board was busier...

    Nichole's fine pastry has the best cupcakes in Fargo. My fiance and I booked them for our June 2012 wedding at the Plains.

    He's becoming more popular than Dude Walker and is sooo much better than anyone else I've ever seen in action. he kept our dance floor moving all night long and everyone (grandparents to kids) had a great time.

    For cake, just don't use Fantisies in Frosting. They were awful to deal with. A month before my wedding, she called to tell me that she couldnt do the design she promised a year prior. Then she called 48hrs before the delivery to say that I had to spend $100 more on ribbon for my cake. With that little time left, she had my arm twisted behind my back with no other options. The end product was not what I wanted at all. (Although it all tasted good.) Too much stress and money to not get what I wanted.
