Grandfather, grandaughter dance

I know this sounds weird. My dad was never around when I was a kid, and then he died in 05. I asked my grandfather go walk me down the aisle and father daughter dance. The problem being I don't have any clue what song to do the dance to. It js diffrent because he is my grandfather. Any help would be great.

Re: Grandfather, grandaughter dance

  • I don't think you need to pick any song that is "different", there isn't, at least from what I've seen, any "set" song for a father/daughter dance. For me personally, I'm looking at "oldies" music for my dance with my dad, because when I was growing up & would help him out with projects, that's always what we would listen to on the radio.

IMO, you should pick something that means something to you & your grandfather.
  • You could also just do a classical song that doesn't have any words to it.

  • I agree that you should pick a song that you both like.  If I was going to do a father/daughter dance, I would have picked something along these lines since I am not overly sentimental or sappy:

"I could have danced all night" from My Fair Lady (maybe a more modern version)
    "Find love" by Clem Snide
"The dress looks nice on you" by Sufjan Stevens

  • I am doing the same. My father was never around, still isn't. So my grandfather is walking me down. I chose Tiny Dancer for our dance (I used to dance and my FI plays guitar-  "married a music man", so it kinda fits).
