I'm a Mrs. Name changing service??

I keep seeing this as a deal.... is it worth it?  It sounds like you can aquire all the forms that you need on your own but they just try to make it easier for you?

Here is the description:

Your package will provide you with access to every form you need from your passport and driver's license to your frequent-flyer membership and college alumni association. I'm a Mrs helps brides change their name with ease. It's the only service that personally speaks to every organization to confirm their process. We are government-validated. No blank form letters here! We are all about the details. We don't just provide you with a "bank" or "credit card" form letter--we actually provide you with the details for the specific organizations you personally deal with. If they prefer you to change by email, we tell you that and we draft the email. All you have to do is click the email button, it pops up drafted in your browser ready for you to enter your member details and click send. Voila. See? Simple.

Your I'm a Mrs premium package doesn't expire - so if you're not walking down the aisle until 2013, don't worry you can still take advantage of this deal and be sure you will get access to the most up-to-date forms in our database.

Anyone doing anything like that?

Re: I'm a Mrs. Name changing service??

  • Honestly, I think it's a waste of money. Most of those forms are available online with minimal searching.

  • I got it because there was a Groupon.  It was a waste of money. Don't do it.  The forms can be found elsewhere.  You have to go through and fill out each one separately so it only saves time getting the forms.

  • I vote scam.  I'm guessing that if they're helping you change your name they will also be gathering a lot of other personal info too.  Like SSN, previous addresses, and maybe parents maiden names.  Sounds like fishing to me.

  • Waste of money.  It's probably MORE work going through someone else than it is to just do it on your own.

  • Thanks guys... I really never wanted to do it I was just curious if it was legit.  I can do it all on my own no problem!

Search "no hassle name change kit"- it's a PDF and gives you the step-by-step rundown of all the forms and the order in which all is to be done. I have the pdf, but not sure how to post it here, sorry. It can be easily be found online though. GL!

Oh and is free- just one quick google search and voila!

  • In Response to I'm a Mrs. Name changing service??:

Hi there!  My name is Jo-Anne from i'm a mrs name change service.  I just wanted to reply to this thread to clear up how i'm a mrs actually works. We aren't a service that everyone needs to use (as some people have indicated below)...but if you are a busy person, that unfortunately works more than they should...and you happen to be associated with a lot of organizations...we can definitely help to save you some time. We have been lucky enough to help thousands of brides in the US, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom and South Africa.

Our service is a bit different than others out there - because we don't just provide you with blank form letters. We actually call each and every organization. We wait on hold so you don't have to. We find all the methods and recommend the one that they think will be the most efficient. And we give you tips where we can to help make the process easier. If we don't have a form, we will find it for you within two business days - helpful especially for those that might belong to professional associations that are a bit more obscure. Our database also includes the broadest categories - everything from the usual suspects like driver's licenses and passports, SSA, etc. to alumni associations, frequent flyer programs, magaznes, and things like teacher's associations, nursing boards, etc.

Some organizations like banks and government agencies require you to come in-person to change your name. They want to take a new photo and have you sign a new signatire card, and while it sems like a big inconvenience it is to protect your identity. Others perfer phone or email. Some snail mail. We give you all the options, write the body of the emails for you...and try to save you some time wherever we can,

We don't collect your personal data, ask for your personal date or save your personal data. You control what information you put on each form and you save it to your own computer - not our server. We don't even keep credit card details on file when you purchase...security is VERY important to us.

If you have any questions at all, please drop me a line at info (at) imamrs (dot) com.  Happy to help!  Congrats!
