Workout Accountability: Friday

I guess TK just decided to eat yesterday's thread. Happy Friday!

I ran a little under 4 miles last night. It was windy and I felt a little slow, but I'm glad I went anyway. Tonight I'm lifting and doing the elliptical. I upped my reps on a few exercises last time and might on a few others, we'll see.

This weekend I have plans for a shopping/lunch date with a friend and then I have the lovely task ahead of me of addressing and stuffing/sealing our wedding invitations.

    The dog and I went for a small run yesterday, and then I just did some light ab work.  Eating wasn't the best yesterday, because of things in the office and because I made FI some 'thank you' brownies for listening to me vent about all of the drama (and, of course, ate one myself!)

    I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend with FI, and hitting up the local farmers market tomorrow AM to stock up on some fresh herbs and veggies.  I also heard there's a lady going tomorrow who sells all natural cupcakes - so, well, that may need to happen :)  I do plan on working out outside on Saturday, doing the running circuit with the exercise stations that surrounds our complex.

    Happy early Mother's Day to all of the mom's out there!

  • I would kill for some thank you brownies this morning!

    Yesterday I walked 4 miles with my mom. It was really cold here and after a weird run on Thursday I just wanted to take it easy. Today I might run, but I might try to get my sister an niece to go for a hike or a walk this afternoon.

    This weekend is my bachelorette party- low key at my sister's house with a numerologist coming so it should be fun! I am trying to figure out how to make it not so noticable that I am not drinking. Any suggestions??
  • Today is a new start.  I need to amp up the motivation.  I'm going to focus on cardio today to get back into my routine.  Also, my eating has started out well, so I'm going to continue that today.

    This weekend, we have an Engagement Encounter pre-marital counseling day Saturday.  Sunday we will get together with my parents and sister/brother-in-law for Mother's Day.

    kp - I probably do owe you ladies some thank you brownies, too! :)

    Sometimes I really do have to decline drinking because it upsets my acid reflux too much, and I actually have a neighbor who has the same issue (hers is so bad that it's actually painful for her to drink alcohol.)  Maybe say that you had some acid kick up from all of the working out, so you know drinking would upset your system?
    Whatever you come up with - have a great time this weekend!

  • Morning!

    Last night we lifted shoulders & biceps and I did 30 minutes worth of intervals on the elliptical.  I slept on my neck funky, and it is KILLING me right now, so I skipped spin this morning.  I am trying to get a chiropractor appointment today because I'm going to my parents' house for the weekend and want to feel better.

    I have my second dress fitting tomorrow - looking forward to seeing how it fits since the last time she took it in.  My seamstress is awesome and told me to keep losing weight, and she would take it in as many times as she needed to, and only charge us once.  I have to drive to my parents' house in NE PA for every fitting, but she is awesome & totally worth it.

    So excited that it's almost the weekend.

    Last night I did 60 minutes of light cardio on my bike, it was pretty chill, and after the crazy week i've had at work that's what I needed.

    Tonight is supposed to be a gym night but FI asked a friend over for dinner, so I'm not sure how this is going to work. I imagine I'll actually end up working out on my bike again because the gym closes early on Fridays (which is stupid).

    I've been slacking all week.  It's pretty awful.  I'll head to the gym tonight with my fiance after work.  I plan on doing an easy cardio workout and arms because I have a 5k with work in the morning.  It's for a great cause, the weather should be gorgeous, and I haven't run one in awhile so i'm pretty pumped about it!

    Enjoy your lunch, jude! KP, have fun at the bachelorette! When a friend of mine found out she was pregnant, but didn't want people to know, she would make herself a "mixed drink" minus the alcohol. She would make it in the kitchen when no one was there and tell people it was a vodka & cranberry and just nurse it all night. Of course that's lying, but maybe you could find a more subtle way to do it. In any case, enjoy!! Hope the drama & dust is settling, lobsters!

    My eating & working out this week has been in the TANK. This weekend we have a meeting with our officiant and then we're headed to the Phillies game Saturday night. I hope they're not dreadful. We are then hosting a Mother's Day brunch on Sunday for our moms. I am going to use SkinnyTaste for recipes so they're not too, too bad for us.

  • Hi everyone.  I did pretty well this week diet/exercise wise and the scale showed a 1 lb loss this morning.  I'll take it!  Last night I did a step class at the gym, and then lifted biceps and triceps at home in front of the TV. 

    Not sure how today is going to go.....plan is to try and get in a walk at lunch unless a coworker wants to go get pedicures, then i'll probably do that instead!  Happy hour with FI and his coworkers after work, so I honestly doubt if I'll do much of anything tonight.  Depending on where they have happy hour, might be able to walk there and get a few miles in.

    I plan on lots and lots of walking this weekend.  Going out to eat twice on Sunday (lunch with his family, dinner with mine), so really need to stay in control for the rest of the weekend.

    Have fun at lunch Jude! KP, if you're not into deceiving people, then this suggestion isn't for you, but a friend of mine emptied a vodka bottle and filled it with water, so she was just basically diluting her juice a little bit every drink but people thought she was drinking vodka and juice/pop. Just mark the bottle in some way (a piece of tape that looks like it could have been there by accident, a mark on the bottom of the lid, etc.) so that you don't mix it up with the real vodka, lol. I would do that, or just say that I didn't want to gain weight this close to the wedding (my seamstress said...) lol. Good luck! Lobsters, I hope you have a good relaxing weekend after all of the drama you've been experiencing! Reggies - sounds like you have an awesome seamstress!

    Today I'm going to do a quick run before I work my stupid shift today from 1:30 to 9:15.. I hate it when my shifts run over dinner time! But it will be okay, I'll manage. This weekend we're celebrating my Dad's 59th birthday and Mother's day all on Saturday, so there should be lots of food. Luckily I'm making my Dad's cake which is banana cake with coffee icing (he loves it) and I think it's disgusting, so that won't tempt me.

  • Thankfully May is bike to work month and things have settled down for me. I managed to bike in the last 3 days in a row.  Yesterday I even remember to charge my GPS.   One way trip to work is 6.25 miles, it took me 30 minutes to bike in and I burned about 350 calories. 

    This weekend is tricky for me as I head to NYC for a conference on Sunday.  Need to try and find time to work out on Monday before my conference begins.

  • Thank you for the suggestions! It is hard because I WANT to tell everyone! I want to scream from the roof tops, but it is still so early that I going to keep it to very immediate family for now! I think I'll try a little deception and if people guess they guess, but I won't confirm.

    So impressed with everyone's workouts! KWith- your dress looks amazing, and I am jealous your farmers market is open! Ours won't really start for a few more weeks!

    Friday is my lazy day, my day of recovering from a 14+ hour Thursday.  I need to go run a few errands, so I'll do them on foot instead of car/bus.  Dinner tonight is not going to be all that healthy, but that's typical of Friday night dinners here.  FMIL cooks for shabbat and it's never diet food.  I'll control my portions and that will help keep me from blowing through all my points at once.  
    I want to get myself back into exercising regularly, but I'm just so wiped out from my semester that my motivation is sorely lacking right now.  That and I lack any routine in terms of sleep.  Not a good semester for me.
