Priory

Hello! Has anyone had a wedding (or having their wedding) at the Priory. It looks beautiful, but I'm just wondering how pricey it is. I'm trying to stay around $80/ person (around $10,000 for all reception- about 100 people) is this even a possibility there?

My budget and tastes don't match up. :( I loved the History Center, but that catering is RIDICULOUS. They said at least $105/person-- ridiculous. It seems that 20th century club may work. Oy!

The only item I will not compromise on...my bouquet of all purple tulips wrapped in a swatch from my Mom's wedding dress.

I have been feeling the same way about my tastes not matching up with my budget.  I think we may end up going with the 20th Century Club as well.  I didn't end up vistiing the Priory, even though I loved the idea of it.  I was afraid that if I went that nothing else would compare...and I'm pretty sure that its really not in the budget for us.  Good luck!

I think the Priory is 15,000 minimum for a Saturday night, but I could be wrong. Definitely call and find out. It's a beautiful space for a wedding, but it was just too expensive for me.

Most reception sites in the city are going too be at least 90-110pp.

Priory was beautiful and out of my budget as well. I had the same reception budget as you,, bigger guest list.

I ended up at Heinz Field, which I originally thought to be too expensive. They can really work with you on the budget; their food is very inexpensive.

Hi!  The Priory was lovely and one of the top venues that I considered.  I ended up choosing somewhere else because they weren't nearly as accommodating/ flexible as the other venues I was looking at, and the wedding coordinator there gave me a slightly negative vibe.  That said, the space and the hotel itself are lovely.

As of this fall, they do indeed have a $15,000 minimum for Saturday weddings April-December, not including any tax or service charge.  There is also a separate fee to have a ceremony there.  I have more info I can send over if you're still interested.

Course, it looks like they give discounts for Friday/Sunday weddings, as well as weddings from January to March. Their winter white setup looks gorgeous!

Femme - Remind me, where is your reception?

the priory's winter white wedding package is what convinced me to go forward with a winter wedding myself. they offered us a 10k minimum for a winter wedding. they also have entire packages for their winter weddings, which include chair covers, full length linens, center pieces, food, cake and favors (however when we looked they had not yet hashed out the favors. we suspect it would have been chocolates made by their in house pastry chef, who also does the cake). their packages ran from 75-90/pp. those packages, or at least the 90/pp package included 2 rooms at the priory the night of the wedding.

i don't believe they run packages for the rest of the year, but i could be wrong.

that said, we held our ceremony & reception at the lemont. appetizers, entrees and valet parking (we paid for our guests, which you do not have to do) worked out to be 80/pp, but that is on the high side. that was assuming the guest chose the most expensive entree (beef is 34, chix/pork 29, veggie 28, seafood...32 maybe?) and parked their car with the valet. we also included our cake and the cake fees with that, as well as the cookie traying fees, since the cake was separate (and we did not use the bakery that they suggested, although it would have waived the cake cutting fees).

    good luck!!

I did a Friday wedding back there in 2006 - mainly due to wanting a small wedding (~100 people) and Saturday being too expensive for that.  Remember though the price that they quote doesn't inclue tax/tip.  And Pauline may be rigid but there was not 1 thing wrong on our wedding day ....
