Ok, our wedding isn't for two years because I want to wait until after I'm done getting my degree and we currently live in different states. But we are doing a mostly DIY projects so we are going ahead and getting the ball rolling.
So...we are planning a wedding that celebrates our ethnicity and us as a couple. So since my fiance is part Native American we are going to incorporate Native American as our main theme. We have no idea what exactly I am because I was adopted. But since I was adopted into a Mexican family, we want to honor my inherited ethnicity and have Mexican food.
So far I have designed the invitations and save the dates. For the invitations I made a stencil of an Native American border with a dream catcher at the top to which I plan on adding dyed feathers in our colors (so far that's up for debate...I like turquoise, he likes green for the wedding...but we both like black, green, and blue..I also like darker reds and he likes pink..lol).
The save the dates I'm using stamps and colored inks to make a forest-like back ground and a fox and wolf standing on opposite sides of the card. (To play with our Native American names. He is Night Wolf and I am Night Fox. )
We also like bark vases for center pieces. And we found someone who can make us a customized wedding cake topper because we want a humorous cake topper that represents us.
So...we have lots of different elements we would like to somehow incorporate and no idea how to make it flow so it won't seem so...choppy.
I'm just stumped how to tie Mexican with Native American. Or even what colors will go together. Or any craft ideas that would work with that.
Anyone have any ideas please let me know. I'm at a standstill.
