Has anyone else noticed their sex life has exploded?

My FI and I still don't live together, so we'd usually have sex twice a week, on the two nights we'd stay with each other, either at my house or at his. We'd spend our tome together, have dinner, ggo to bed, and have sex. Great sex, mind you, but pretty predictable.

But now that we're engaged, we've been, if you'll pardon my French, f***ing like animals. Not only are we seeing each other more for wedding planning, but when we are together we can't keep our hands off each other! Seriously! Most recently I was trying to cook dinner and he started coming on to me, doing his normal sweet thing, so I turned off all the fires and we did it right there. In the kitchen. In the daylight. Now, I'm no prude, we've done more adventurous things before, but it's that it's becoming commonplace. He always says something like "I can't help but get turned on by my future wife" and calls me "Mrs W_________" even though I'm not taking his name (but I'm fine being known as that informally). We've gone from having sex twice a week to having sex roughly ten times a week.

Normally, I'd be bragging. Our sex life is dynamite. It isn't interfereing in work too much, but it's definitely interfering with the wedding planning. I literally haven't done anything for the wedding in weeks. I'm supposed to send my second batch of STDs soon and they're sitting on the desk, untouched. That and I'm ruining our dinners!

  • Nope. We haven't had sex yet and won't til after the wedding. That's awesome that yours is though! I fail to see the problem? Lol. You have lots of time left. Don't stress about it.

  • That's great that your sex life has gotten better!

I don't think our sex life really changed after getting engaged.

Actually it is non-existant right now!  Though for different reasons. I went off the pill so my hormones could balance out for future ttc, but he's worried about pregnancy before the wedding, so a few weeks ago we decided no sex until at least wedding night.

Though I think this was a good move for us because it has made things more interesting and fun for us in different ways. I don't really know how to explain it, but I think it has allowed us to experience a different dynamic in our relationship that has just been a lot of fun & something that we wouldn't have been able to experience otherwise. In fact, I told him that maybe we should abstain at certain points after we're married lol (he said no way lol)

  • Ours hasn't changed much either. If anything, its tapered off a little since my 14-year-old started living with us more FT. But there is nothing wrong with your firery romance! Its awesome! I know FI and I have been much more affectionate and cuddly and he does the same thing calling me future Mrs. J___.

I say go for it and enjoy it for as long as you can! The STDs can go out later ;).
Maybe you can plan 1 day a week to focus on wedding stuff and no FI for distraction :D.

  • FI and I have been together almost 4 years and have been engaged for over a year and a half, so I'm trying to remember what we were like our first few months of being engaged... I don't think things changed too much.  Pretty much the same.  So glad you're enjoying yourself and don't worry about the planning!

  • No change here.  We are waiting too.  He's been with past girlfriends, but I have never had sex, so he supports that and isn't going to push me into anything until we are married.  But, I think he's counting the days....we've been together almost 5 years, which means he hasn't had sex in over 5 years....he's been a very patient man.

<div>YES!!! Me too! We've lived together for a while, but just bought a house together 6 months ago, and we've done it ALL OVER the house since we got engaged this past summer. The last few months have been AMAZING. I know people talk about the honeymoon phase, and how it all fades eventually, but we've been together for over 8 years now, and if anything, the phase has just gotten more and more intense and amazing. </div><div>
