Guest Book

We bought the regular guest book that people sign but I also want to have one of those photo guest book to display in our home.  Is that overkill?

Re: Guest Book

  • I don't think people will side eye it, but chances are they'll only sign one or the other. I'm doing a MixBook with our engagement pics that they can sign, and I'm not using an alternative b/c I'd like to get everyone in one place, if possible.

  • Why do you want one of the traditional books?  No judgement, just trying to find out the motivation for each book.  I can understand the book that you want to have displayed in your home with the beautiful pictures of your engagement.  Is there any reason why you wouldn't want that to be your only book?  If not, then I say take the other one back and save the money on the duplicate book.
  • I think two guest books is overkill.  As a guest my track record for signing guest books is at BEST 50%, and I would be extremely unlikely to sign both.   But I would probably be more likely to sign something like a photo frame or matte than just a plain book.

  • Can you tell me where I buy the photo guest books?

I brought a 16x20 signature frame from michaels for 18.
  • My mom wants a traditional guest book, and I want to incorporate guest advice and well wishes on 3x3 inch squares of scrapbook paper. So we're putting the traditional guest book out at both the church and reception/hors d'oevres hour before the reception, and putting out the paper squares at the reception/hors d'oevres hour for guests to comment on as well. Hopefully they'll do both!

  • As  MiksChick23 said if they have two then people will probably sign one and not the other. I'm guessing you don't want that. Guests like to find the guest book sign it and be over and done with. If sometime in the reception they find out that there are two then they might be a tad annoyed, but maybe that's just me. I hope you're happy with whatever you do, but I wouldn't waste money on two especailly since usually the tradtitional one most people just tuck away in a wedding chest. I've always liked the idea of one with pictures too. It's nice to display and it's not completely traditional, but it's nice and elegant.

    Good luck!Smile
