Bridal Designers' Websites SUCK!

I know, pretty dramatic headline there, but I'm still searching for what kind of gown I want (and have to find a plus size one at that). I have tried about a dozen websites for various dress designers, and they all have similar crappy layouts. The only font/pics are in the dead center, use flash/java to showcase a single dress at a time, zero search abilities, and I cannot find the site map to save my life. Why must these people make their pages so aggravating and impossible to navigate?

I'm hoping my fellow ladies can help me out here. Where can I find (plus size) tea-length wedding dresses (I'm even looking at BM dresses) that have the full circle skirt with tulle/crinoline underneath? Oh, and something that isn't over $600. Thanks!

On another note, I think I need to go buy some chocolate..... ;)

  • I think you just need to go to a bridal shop and tell them what you are looking for and they will show you what they have. Be open minded and try things on that others tell you too.

I started off plain and simple and ended up with long train and all lace and beads.

  • That'd be a great idea, but I don't know my way around this town, barely know anyone that could take me (besides fiance, and that's not happening lol), and I'm terrified I'd get lost! :)
  • What about David's Bridal? And, I think there web site is a bit more user-friendly.

You're going to have to eventually. Most designers you can't order online and if you do, how are you going to know what looks good on you or doesn't? The plain I originally wanted looked horrible on me. You need to get over the anxiety, google places in your area, and go.

  • Alfred Angelo has pretty plus sized dresses ( maybe all the dresses are plus size capable? ) my bridesmaid just got her dress from them and she Loved the selection ( she's a pus size bride too)

  • I got my dress through brides against breast cancer. It was a designer dress that was orginally 1600 for about 300.  See if they have an event near you proceeds go towards a good cause and they have a varity of sizes
my other suggesion is davids bridal
  • Thank you for the suggestions, I found what I'm looking for, it's now just a matter of finding an actual dressmaker around here. Researching that now! :)
  • I would focus on the top. I would start with long dresses. At alterations they can cut it to tea length and add the crinoline.
