I'm worried I wont qualify for aid :( I never qualified for much during undergrad and I can only assume with the economy and it being grad school I will only get less.
I have to do some research on David's GI Bill.

Congratulations!  That is fabulous!!  I agree with PP's - it will work out!!  :)  Are you against student loans or no?

well being as a Master, for me is not necessary - I kinda am.

Congrats!!  The good news is that you'll be married by then... that might help you qualify for more financial aid, since you'll be considered an independent?

Good news is for graduate school, you don't put down your parent's income. just yours! And if you file your Fafsa as married, you would put your H's too. Either way, you will get way more (I'm presuming your combined incomes are less than your parents---usually that is common for young grad students!). I made less than $10,000 last year and my "expected family contribution" this year is only $500 Lol.

Since my parents were divorced I used my Dad's income -he was unemployed for half of my college career and still only qualified for like $3,000/yr. How lame is that! So our combined income may be more than... I can't recall what he was making as a PT teacher. Either way I have very low expectations.

David is allowed to share his G.I Bill with me - which would cover the tuition.... but... he believes he can't cash it in yet, since he went to the Air Force Academy. I have to make some calls tomorrow and check, I hope that even if he can't use it yet, that doesn't mean I cant LoL WSU also has assistantships available for selected students, which would also cover the costs but that is dependent on ongoing research. The Department Head was not confident there would be one available this fall for me. :(

Lots of options -- hoping one works out! :)

Congrats!!  Good luck with the financing!!  Hopefully the GI bill works out for you - I just finished up grad school and the lowest interest rate I got on my loans was 6.8%, highest was 8.4%!!!!  They are pricing school out of our salaries these days......

Sadly this is true :( I was trying to hit up FI for his so I could start masters this fall. They have to serve their contract first, basically paying back their college tuiition then they can use the GI Bill. BUT on a good note, there are seperate miltary wife assistance prorams, which might be able to help!

    Congrats!!!

May sound corny, but the addage "do you what you love and the money will follow" is usually true :o)

Best of luck w/sorting out financial aid/getting a TA position!

I think we have had this convo before. There are still alot of unknowns but would love to teach Criminology to College Students. But I would need a PhD to do that and that is most likely not in the cards. I am just going to see where this leads. I'm not ruling out research either.

Congrats on getting in!  I hope you qualify for a decent chunk of aid, or that you can use your H's GI Bill.  FI's brother is transferring his GI Bill benefits to his wife, but it might be different because he's not in an academy, but he will be going to Iraq (actually Kuwait) in May, obviously active duty.
