Questions for florists -- needed for tonight!

Yeah, so clearly I've been on wedding planning vacay because I just realized that I completely forgot my handy wedding book that had handy vendor questions in it. And I have a handy meeting with a florist tonight. Darn!

What do you think are the must-ask questions for a florist? Keep in mind flowers are basically the lowest thing on my priority list, aside from the cake. They need to look nice and alive, but that's about it!

Honestly, the florist was the one that asked me all the questions.  I met with two and both of them had some standard questions and then we just talked about the wedding so they could get a feel for my "vision".

If you have some bouquet pictures you like, bring them.  One of them asked for a picture of my dress to get an idea of my tastes.  But you don't really need to ask them a whole lot except for the standard, deposit timelines, due dates, cancellation policies, etc.

I don't have too much of a list, but I wanted to tell you that I was not at all excited about flowers, and I met with a florist who *made* me excited about flowers.

    Some questions (outside of cost/budget):
How well do the flowers we are talking about last outside of water (for bouquets?)
Do you rent vases (for centerpieces) from the florist, or do you have to buy/provide your own?
Does the florist deliver the flowers?  What does that cost?
Does the florist come back after the reception to clean up the flowers?  What does that cost?

Definitely take pics of dresses, inspiration pic, swatches of your colors etc...

It is good to ask about delivery and set up/tear down.  We had one florist that would drop everything off but wouldn't pick up things we were renting from them.  That would've caused a lot of extra hassle as she wasn't super close to our venue and none of us live in that direction.

Also, ditto Liz.  With the florist, she asked me a lot more questions than I asked her.

This stuff is great, thanks guys! I've got a few photos and had also figured she'd want to see my dress, so I can pull that up on my phone.

Clearly I had a brain fart today. Knew I could count on you!

I know nothing about flowers and was lucky to find a really good florist that made me excited about them.

Ask if they will make you a mock centerpiece to ensure your vision and the florist's vision are in-line.

In addition to Meg's "set up/tear down" question: Does the florist do late-night tear down after the wedding? Some venues require the reception to be cleaned up that night, and not the next morning.
