The napkins and chair sashes I ordered showed up. They came from two different knotties but I lucked out, they're the same shade of purple. The table runners I bought are officially the odd color out, though not by much. I don't really care if they aren't perfect.

We took our engagement picture Saturday. Our professional photographer GM took them and he already finished editing them and mailed them Monday. They should be here today, I hope.

I finally got the guest list for my shower to my MOH who's brought up getting one from me for a while now. Although, FI's mom is planning on adding all her house sale buddies to the guest list and wants them invited to the shower too. My parents are paying for the reception and guest list has already grown by about 20 since we originally planned it out. Another four or five people might give my dad and aneurism.

My plans for this week, hopefully before the weekend is to call the baker we want to use and schedule an appointment, call a highly recommended, low cost florist in town to set up an initial appointment, call to reschedule my make up trial.

I've got two florist consults this coming week, one on Friday and one on Monday, so yay for that.

Our reprinted save the dates showed up last night (thanks, Vistaprint, for the free reprint!!), so I got all excited and spent a couple hours last night addressing them. I got about 3/4ths of them done, but I still need to get a handful of addresses. We're going to send them out shortly after my sister's wedding.

Which leads me to a question: How soon after my sister's wedding is it acceptable to send out our save the dates?

I started emailing photographers about Boudoir shoots. Some people had prices online and I knew they were too much. I e-mailed 3: One is my actual wedding photograhy company, and they just started branching out into Boudoir. They had a package for $400, but it was only 1 outfit, and I really wanted more than that. Their next package is $750 for 2 outfits, makeup, 10 edited prints, a CD (but I'm not sure if that's just the 10 edited ones or all of them) and an 8x10. I really don't want an 8x10, I don' plan on hanging up a picture of me in lingere in my house. And I could do my makeup, so I emailed asking if they could lower the price and still give me 2 outfits. Havn't heard back. The 2nd one emailed me back and said to call them, which I guess I could do, but I don't want FI to know about it and I don't really want people calling me back about it, because then if he is there he'll wonder what it's about. The 3rd never emailed me back. I foresee this being a really annoying process.

FI and I also plan to get moving on hotel blocks and figuring out what hotel we want, if we want to provide transportation for guests, and how much that will cost.

The boudoir and the hotel block are the things I least enjoy planning so far.

We picked up our rings on Saturday and FI was ready to start wearing it then.  We booked our hotel room for the wedding night before sending out the save the dates.  Tonight the Macy's near us is having a Sip 'n Scan event, so we are going to start our registry.  And on Saturday all the BMs are going to try on dresses and hopefully decide on one.  My goal is to get the save the dates out this weekend or early next week.

@emilyb: I guess it depends how far away your guests have to travel. If most of them are far away, I would only wait a week so they have time to plan. But if they're all local, maybe a month wouldn't hurt?

I failed to find anyone to put up the metal chuppah I bought that was going to have tons of flowers on it. I emailed my linens lady to see how much one of her simple one was, and it was $1000. That didn't even include the flowers. I laughed for a long time about that. Then I found a lady who has one to rent for $180, it's available on our date, and they take care of the setup/teardown. Plus, you can't put flowers on it, so it's probably going to save me a few hundred there, too.

I'm in panic mode because I feel like I have nothing done!  My goal this week is to get a to-do list with timeline.

We did send our STD's- just to family and friends who are on the definite list.  We have about 20 to 30 on our bubble (a lot of FI's friends from work and some of my very close clients).

We hired our photographer and are doing e-pics next Thurs or Fri weather permitting.  We weren't going to do one but it is in the package and the photographer highly recommended it for getting comfortable with having pics taken.  Plus we both love fall.

Hmmm, I don't think I got anything done this week.  Frown

On the upside of that, I was getting my nails done the other day and mentioned to my nail gal that I was struggling to find someone for day-of wedding hair but I'd booked a trial with someone at the same salon for a make-up trial and the nail gal told me the MU gal also does day-of hair!  I'm going to call and see if they'll reschedule my MU trial so I can do a hair trial the same day with the same person.  I'm loving this one stop shop!

OH!  I almost forgot, FI and I picked out our first dance song!!!!  We want to dance to Bei Mir Bis Du Schon by the Andrews Sisters, LOL.  I'm so excited because it means some swing dancing.  FI likes the idea as long as we can find reasonably priced dance lessons (sigh, one more thing for the to-do list, lol).  And I picked out the duet piece my son and FSIL will be playing during the ceremony.

I guess I did get something done this week.  Smile

There are always Groupons on the Pgh page for lessons at Arthur Murray studios (the google gods tell me there's one in Lenexa, KS). Next time one pops up, I'll check and see if it's good at all locations and let you know. Also, I know around here, there are a couple dance clubs that do lessons for an hour, then a group dance a couple times a month for 10 bucks a pop. Maybe look into something like that?

Sounds like everyone is moving right along with planning! I can't wait for June to come around to see how everything ties together for us all!

I've worked on some more DIY projects and have several almost completed. Here are some signs that are pretty much done. A couple of the reserved signs will have a piece of twine at the top and hung on the first couple of rows of seating at the ceremony. And the others will be used during the reception. The big one will be nailes to a wooden post for the ceremony. Just have to add a board at the bottem of some of them, and they will all be done! (The one on the bottom is where I got the idea, and you can see what I mean about adding a piece to the bottom.)

I also talked with a baker this wekk and will hopefully be doing a taste testing with them in the next couple of weeks. Our e-pics are scheduled for Sunday and it is suppose to be a beautiful day, so getting excited about that. Not sure what else we've gotten not this week, I'm sure I'm missing a few things.

I haven't been posting on the daily threads the last few weeks because I barely ever get on here or have anything to say. But today, I do.

Saturday, FI and I booked our honeymoon. We're going on a cruise from New Orleans to Roatan, Belize, and Cozumel! FMIL and MOH/FSIL also came down to visit. We booked hotel blocks at 2 hotels, looked at a potential rehearsal dinner place, and tried on BM dresses.

Monday, my mom and I had another meeting with the CEO at our venue to ask questions about their new proposal. We're much happier with them now. I also booked a 3rd block of rooms.

Yesterday, I ordered our STDs, matching envelopes, and seals all for less than $70 thanks to retail-me-not. I feel like we're FINALLY getting things accomplished. Now I just need to get my BMs to actually speak to me and pay for that cruise...

We are doing our E-pics on Sunday! And the weather actually looks like it's going to cooperate.

I finally got all my BM's together and everyone picked out and agreed on a dress.... until we got in the car and my oldest niece decided to tell me she wasn't comfortable in the dress so she wasn't going to eat, drink, or dance at the wedding. Luckily she is the MOH so she can have a slightly different dress which she already looked at online so now we just need to find a store that carries it!

We got our save the dates in last week but FI still hasn't gotten the addresses of his friends so they probably won't get sent out till next month.

We have another cake tasting this weekend. i really didn't think finding a good cake was going to be as difficult as it has been. Although I shouldn't be complaining since we've been getting free cake every weekend! Smile

Aaannd I got my roses right on schedule on the 15th of the month. It's been four months and FI hasn't forgoten once!

We sent about 1/3 of our STD's out, still waiting for some addresses to get the rest of them out.  Since we decided to change our colors this week, we went and bought some paint in the new color, so I can start re-painting my picture frame table numbers.  Luckily, I only had done about 9 out of the 28 we need, so it wasn't a total loss.  We'll be spending some time with FI's family this weekend, so I hope to hash out a few more details!

Yikes, I'm feeling way behind! My best friend is getting married in March, so I just don't feel like I can take my wedding seriously yet...I know that makes no sense. I guess I'm afraid of stealing her thunder somehow. All I did this past week was email a potential makeup artist and order fabric swatches from jcrew. Today we turned in the deposit at the church, and had lunch at a potential rehearsal dinner spot (two thumbs down, though). We are having our engagement pictures tomorrow, meeting with the jeweler to start designing my wedding ring on Friday, and taking my sister shopping for bridesmaids dresses on Saturday! Wheeeeee. Oh and I got my first spanx item in the mail today, the higher power waist clincher one. It's comfortable enough, and it definitely eliminates any rolls or pudge in the front, but I feel like it makes me look thicker from the side? Weird.
