We have an appt to get our license on Wednesday, but I'd rather do it Monday instead (the 14th). We're getting married the 19th. The day you get it counts for one of your 5-day waiting period days right?

I'm pretty sure it does, but do you really want to push it that close?

FWIW, we got our license at the Hennepin County Southdale service center weeks before our wedding, and we were able to walk right out with the license. It just said something along the lines of "Valid if ceremony is performed between these dates." I think in some counties, you have to wait for something to come in the mail. There is no way I would wait until the week of my wedding to get the license, but that's just me.

Eek - that's so close. Keep your Wednesday appointment! What if something goes wrong and you can't get there - the building burns down etc. That's way too important to cut it that close, imo.

FWIW - in Ramsey County - my license was available to pick up 5 days after we put in the application and I doubt they're open on Saturday to pick it up then. Plus you'll already have so much to do that day... oh man, just go Wednesday!

I agree.. keep your appointment.. it took a week to get mine from Mankato!

YIKES! I'd go in tomorrow if possible. Waiting until that close to your wedding date is too much of a gamble, especially being in the beginning of the wedding season!
FWIW our's took about a week to get in the mail. We weren't allowed to pick it up!
