June 2013 Weddings

Guest book

Anyone know what they are doing for a guest book yet? I am thinking of doing a thumbprint tree or possibly having a book made of our engagement pictures (which we havent even had done yet since we cant agree on a photog)

Re: Guest book

  • I wanted to do a wishing tree.  It is basically branches and tags with ribbon that guests write a little note on and hang on the branches.  It goes really well with our theme of cherry blossoms.

  • We are completely in love with the thumbprint tree, and I know just where it will hang on the wall in our home afterwards!

  • I too was going to do a book of the engagement pictures that we have yet to take, but I kind of wanted something different.  I can't wait to hear what everyone else is doing!
  • Originally we thought about doing a blank wooden puzzle and having each guest sign a piece. That way we could put it together after the Honeymoon and frame it...but we priced it and HOLY CRAP. Seriously it would be like $800 for a blank wooden puzzle. (one that was super nice and not flimsy)

Sooo we are doing Mad Libs-wedding edition. We are going to put them into a book. I can't wait to see what people write! We have some silly friends/family so I can only imagine what they are going to do. Especially once the drinks start flowing!

  • We are doing a mixbook guestbook with our engagement pictures.  I already have one made up and have the book - but I ordered it with our June 2, 2012 date.  I'll just have to go in the site and change the date and location and it will be good to go.
  • I think we are going to do one of those photo frames that the guests can sign with one of our engagement pics in it and then put one of our wedding pictures in afterwards.

  • I love the fingerprint tree idea! I pinned over half a dozen different takes on the idea on my Pinterest... hehe. For those of you who are thinking of doing this, where are you getting your tree drawing from?

  • I'm having my teenage daughter paint our tree.  She's pretty artistic, and we're going to do some practice trees this summer, so hopefully it will work out!

  • There is this one on etsy (<--clicky) I am downright obsessed with. I found it on pinterest of course. You can basically customize it to any colors you want. I think I will need to do the double tree with the amount of people I am having if I decided to go this way.

  • I was originally going to do the book of engagement photos, but my photographer had an idea and my FI went crazy for it so we're going with it. The photographer is taking one of our engagement shots, blowing it up and putting a matte and frame around the picture. Guests will sign the matte, and then we can hang up the picture in our house. I like it because we will always have it.

  • I saw a guestbook on pinterest that had small envelopes pasted on the pages in different colors (enough to fit a business card size sheet) and little cards for the guests to fill out, I really liked that one, but don't know what we are doing yet.

  • Meghann and sparkles, thanks for the info! One of our GM's is in art school and I like his work/style, so I was thinking of asking him to draw our tree for us.
