Alterations

Hello,

I was looking for a recommendation for a good seamstress.  My dress wont need to be altered for a while, but I am in a wedding at the end of next month and I need my dress hemmed.  I figure this would be a great way to "test out" a seamstress for my gown alterations.  Also if you can give me an idea on pricing that would be great!  I appreciate your suggestions.

Thanks!

She is altering my dress, a BM dress for a wedding I am in, and 2 of my BM's dresses.  I totally love her and she does an amazing job.  You might have a hard time getting an appointment with her, just since its the "busy season" and you have a short timeline, and she is incredibly popular.  Try calling her (early in the morning, like 8ish, is best) and see, but if she can't do your BM dress, still consider her for your wedding dress later.

I am also using Louise.  SUPER affordable.  My friend also used her for her wedding dress alterations.  She paid $125 for a bustle and some other alterations to the dress.  Also, she quoted about $25 to hem one of my BM dresses.

I am using Amazing Alterations in Anoka...Brenda has been a blast to work with and more than affordable. She is charging 40.00 for my bustle and adding a litle bling to my dress :)

I am using Twin Cities Alterations by Sharon Pothen. She has been great to work with.  I believe she is fairly priced.  I know you can go to her home and do it.
I am paying $150 (I don't really remember to be honest, I know I didn't feel like it was outrageous) for the dress to be taken in, hemmed, boneing added, and a bustle.

    Hope that helps!

For mine, Louise said about $160 for bustle, hem, bra cups, taking it in 2 sizes, tacking down a few spots, and steaming.
