I have so many different shapes and sizes and colors of maids that i think ill give them a color and tell them to make it tea length.

    Very thoughtful of you!  The first thing I think of when I see BM's coming down the aisle in different dresses is that the bride really cared about each one and didn't demand that they be clones.  Good for you!

    Ditto PPs. I think this is such an awesome idea. You can go with black, and then they can get a dress from just about anywhere. 

    Or if you want a particular color, pick a designer like Alfred Angelo or David's (provided all of your BMs can afford a dress from one of these stores) and then that way they will all be the same shade. You may also want to select a fabric, because some fabrics hold color differently. I didn't do this, but some brides do and that's fine. 

    Also, if you want pink dresses and don't mind different shades, I think there are ways to pull that off. Same with all different color dresses. Google it.

    I want different dresses for my BM too but I have had several people question this (FMIL and future sister in law).  If I have to explain one more time why I want different dresses I will lose it!
