Please help. Need an inexpensive site in MKE for 30 guests to serve as wedding site and reception si

I am looking for a site in Milwaukee/Racine/Kenosha for my small wedding ceremony of 30 people. I need the place to be pretty and private enough for a wedding. Also, I need the site to serve as a reception site just for food and no dancing. I am on a tight budget of $1000 and I am planning to get married in October 2010. I would appreciate any suggestions of nice restaurants, bed or breakfast place, or hotels. I welcome any comments and ideas. Thank you

Joey Buona's Downtown, Milwaukee?  I don't know how much they are, but I heard they're affordable and really nice inside.  Also, you could have a daytime wedding to save $$.

I was thinking of Hotel Metro downtown Milwaukee. It is meant for smaller events. Price-wise I am unsure.

Joeys is a 10,000 minimum of food and drink to use their space. Perhaps they would so something more informal downstairs...

Our reception is in the upstairs loft space at Milwaukee Public Market and the room rental fee is $350. I imagine they could accommodate something for 30 people.

Every few weeks there are similar posts to yours. Dig through or maybe some of the girls with lots of ideas will post :)  I am drawing a blank on smaller locations.

    Good Luck!

Hotel Metro would be perfect for you, that is what we are doing too!  For a Saturday wedding, their food and beverage minimum is $1500, but if you have your wedding on an "off day" is is only $750.  Their room holds 35 people for a sit-down dinner or up to 50 people for appetizers.  They have a combined indoor/outdoor space that is perfect for both ceremonies and receptions!  The contact person is Tessa Banks, and she has been very helpful to us!  Good luck!

Thank you JCrew for the helpful information. I have always liked hotel Metrol. I will contack Tessa for further detail. I am wondering about the parking situation, since the hotel is in the heart of downtown.

Well, thanks again for the info. I really appreciate it.

You're welcome!  We are doing valet parking for our reception.  You just have to pay per car since they park the cars at the Pister Hotel parking structure.  I don't remember exactly what the cost is per car, but I belive it is about $7/car.  Otherwise, I was told that there is a parking lot nearby that guests can park in and just walk to the hotel.  You can pay the valet parking for the guests or they can pay themselves!
