Full Catholic Mass

How many readers do I need to ask?  how many extra people?  ( people to bring up the gifts, hand my flowers to me for the blessed mother, etc....)  should these people be invited to the rehearsal/ rehearsal dinner?

IMO if they are doing anything for your ceremony they should be invited to your Rehearsal Dinner but then again thats me. I have 3 readers, 1 person for the Prayers of the faithful, Godmother's will bring up the gifts, then I have 2 ladies who are decorating it for me, the organist and the cantor. Plus my wedding party and their +1's or spouses. Then we have the godparents (both sides) the parents and the 1 set of grandparents....and maybe some out of town guests.

sorry....edited to say 2 readers and the cantor will be doing the responsorial psalm and 1 person for prayers of the faithful.

if they are required to be at the rehearsal, then they should be invited to teh dinner, wtih their significant others.  readers i think usually attend the rehearsal, your gift bearers probably do not have to.

We had our ushers bring up the gifts so they were already going to be at the rehearsal dinner.  Also, if you have any altar servers or Eucharistic ministers. You don't have to have people to do this but sometimes its nice if you or the groom have family that can be included.

For the gifts to the blessed mother, your MOH usually walks with you to the blessed mother and can help you.  I've also seen brides go to the blessed mother with their mother.

Ditto on the out of town guests should be invited.  My MIL hosted our RD and made made sure I invited my great aunt and her daughters who came in from Virginia.  Obviously parents of younger attendants also and WP significant others.  Maybe siblings if they aren't in the WP.

I was just at a wedding on Saturday where, when the reader go up to do the prayers of the faithful, there were no prayers on the ambo! oops...

Apparently, I found out later, that was a direct result of her not coming to the rehearsal...

(also, it's not a bad idea to give all the readers an extra copy of what they're supposed to read to keep in their pocket, *just in case* it is forgotten to be put out for them to read at the actual ceremony...)
