Tablecloths to rent or buy?

I found out that my reception venue only has White tablecloths and my dress is a dark Ivory, so that is a no-go for me. I got a quote from Midway Party Rental to get all basic Ivory Polyester tablecloths (very basic) and it was a bit more than I wanted to spend (which, really was $0).

Anyone have other suggestions for rental tablecloths in the Cities?

Or, success at finding deals online for either buying or renting?

You can get ivory tablecloths on ebay for about $10 each. It is about the same as renting from a company and you can turn around and sell them. However, to be completely honest, I don't think that anybody will care that your tablecloth isn't the same color as your dress. I'd just go with what's free.

I agree :) I don't think it will look bad, actually when I imagine dresses matching the tablecloths it looks bad in my head.

But you didn't ask for my opinion! :)

Here is the site we used to buy all of our table runners from.

To see a color swatch (which they didn't really offer) I just ordered a cheap pack of their cloth napkins in the same color as the runners I wanted first. They ship pretty quick!

I agree with PP.... white table linens will not clash with your dress. I think you'll be fine as long as they work with the "feel" of your venue! I selected my linen color based on my venue... so went with Ivory. People won't be focusing on the table color... there will be plenty of distractions for them like your centerpieces, napkins, plates, favors, other guests... etc.

Although I'm one to talk... I wore a white veil with an ivory dress :)

    No, I'm sorry. I got a deep purple...and I stand corrected, I purchased overlays...not tablecloths.

  • I bought tablecloths from that website too, and I would definitely recommend them! Cheaper than renting!
