200lbs and only one fitting before wedding

I am not a native to America, I am from England originally so FI and I had to endure the Marriage Visa process and as such we have 80 days left to get married since I entered the country.

I went with his Mom on Monday to try on dresses and this is the dress I chose.

I need to find bridal underwear that will bring in that last little bump of tummy and hold my girls together properly. I have found this corset which goes for us bigger gals, my problem is that I need to nail the tummy control in the first swoop. My dress is a rush order and I'll only have one fitting/alteration to take the dress up a few inches (I'm 5ft2).

If anyone has any suggestions on sexy white underwear that could hold in 38H cup I'd be very appreciative of the help.
Also, I'm not really trying overly hard to loose weight, maybe tone up a little (especially arms) any suggestions on that too would be wonderful :)

  • Beautiful dress!!  IMO, skip the sexy stuff while in your wedding dress.  Most will tell you that the goal is to have structure (for the girls) and hold everything where it's supposed to be in your dress.  That's hardly ever done in something "pretty".  I'm going to change after the reception into something sexy - once we get into the hotel room.   Good Luck!

  • Your dress is beautiful. I ditto the PP.
  • Yeah, I've also heard to skip the sexy stuff under the dress and go with comfortable. Depending on the time of the year for your wedding, you'll probably sweat while dancing, and I've heard that the dress tends to get heavy and hot throughout the day, so I'd opt for comfort over sexy. Change into something sexy when you get to the hotel room or wherever you're going for that night. :)

  • I'm no help on the suggestions since I'm having the same issue, but I did want to chime in and say how gorgeous your dress is.

  • Great choice, the dress is beautiful.
I definately agree with the others, go for support not sexy for the ceremony and reception and then change.
I remember a video someone posted not long ago where the brides' girls were not supported well...... It was pitiful and embarrasing to watch.

  • Fastest way t get rid of the tummy for me was swimming for sure. Unti. I added swimming I lost weight but did not tone. Do a 1/2 to a a mile of lap swimming a day with a little arm lifting or cardio and you should be good. The dvd 30 day shred $10 is awesome too
  • Molly - Thank you for your suggestion, unfortunately I don't drive (It's on my To-Do list though) so a swimming pool is out of the quesiton. I do, however, have an elliptical and some small 5lb hand weights which I'm using. :)

Jaimie - Thank you for the heads up, I'm unsure if anything on the girls will work since the backline of that particular dress isn't forgiving like that. Tha back view - http://www.demetriosbride.com/index.php?page=details&styleID=181

So just tummy control I may have to go with. I had to order the dress one size bigger just to hold the girls =\

  • Spands and a good bra.

  • There are plenty of longline bras that are designed to fit under a lower backed dress, you just have to look around.

I know jcpenny online has a few options (though all of the stores I've visited have NO longline bras, which is frustrating), and bridal shops will also have specialty bras for under wedding dresses.

As for arm exercises, free weights are a great way to work out those muscles. You should check out the "Getting In Shape" board, there are a lot of posts on there about arms :)

    Greatly appreciated ^_^

Your dress is gorgeous!! If you're looking for some bras that will fit a 38H trying going to http://www.barenecessities.com/ or http://www.herroom.com  they have plenty of stuff, alot department stores in the U.S. doesn't carry anything over a DD or DDD so its extremely difficult to find something. I'ma 36H or 38G so I have to order my bras online.
