Hello!  We've just begun our search for a dj and with all of the other costs adding up we'd like to find someone for $1,000 or less.  Does anyone have any recommendations?  Our reception is on the North shore.

    Curtis Knight Entertainment has a lot of good DJ's at that price.

    I totally agree.  Our dj is from Curtis Knight and the price was pretty reasonable.  We have loved working with the dj, and CKE, so far.

    We are using All That Music for our wedding. They are a husband/wife team who really seem like they love what they do. There basic DJ package is $999 but they will probably work with you to fit your budget needs. They even do candy buffets if your interested!

    We went with a more expensive DJ but were VERY close to choosing Mark at Curtis Knight Entertainment. He is VERY professional, laid back, just a great guy overall. They are $1,000 there. Don't know if you can find anything cheaper...but good luck!

    Try Phat Bastard Entertainment. He has a facebook page. Wedding are only $500 for 4 hours, including lighting.

    My DJ is Ken Drew from Millis.  www.djkendrew.com He is doing the ceremony, reception and cocktail hour for $800 for us.

    Try Kevin Cain. He was the DJ for a friend's wedding last year and is going to be our DJ next summer. His reception package is around $1000 but he gives a 10% discount if you pay in full, saving you about $100.

    We had John Cristoferi and he was absolutely fantastic. I could not recommend him more. He was fun, laid back, professional, not a "showman". He played awesome music and had the floor packed all night. Even between courses, people were getting up and dancing. 

    He's based out of the South Shore but travels. I think he goes for around $800. I'm not sure if he raised his prices in the past year or so, but he's great and totally worth it.
