Anyone say yes to the dress yet?

Has anyone on here gotten their dress yet? I haven't but I am seriously considering this one: http://allurebridals.com/Store_ProductDetail.aspx?pid=270h50267677e39757hI in diamond white. Ivory doesn't look good with my skin tone. I really would love to get it in the 'blossom' colour but I don't know how FI would like that, haha.

I'm supposed to wait until March to start looking (I'm notorious for choosing things then changing my mind) but I reeeally want to go try this Allure one on!

I said yes!  Its an Alfred Angelo.  I know I purchased it too soon, but omg I just couldn't not get it.  I probably would have regretted not getting it.

Not yet. I'm in full weight loss mode and don't want to try on anything now that won't look right 30 pounds (or more) from now. Probably going to wait to shop until about 7 months out from the wedding.

I myself plan on losing weight, and my consultant told me that they can size a dress down to 2 sizes, which is roughly 30-40lbs.  She said anything more than that is def doable but more costly because they then have to reconstruct the dress.

Thanks.  I brought my dad back to see it and he was like "where do I pay?"  LOL.  I feel lucky that my dad offered to buy my dress, veil, and the sash, and he offered to pay for the alterations and to have a jacket made for the ceremony.  I feel even more lucky and so happy that I was able to find a dress that we both like.  When he saw how traditional it was compared to the modern style dresses with all the bells and whistles, he was like, "this is what I pictured my little girl wearing on her wedding day."  Even my consultant was misty-eyed LOL.

Kris and 50Shades, good choices!  I have tried a few dresses on, but will not be seriously looking until closer to the date.  We actually wiped our slate clean and are rethinking our whole wedding plan right now.  So, the focus is on that right now.

Those are some beautiful dresses ladies.  I bought my dress and it was exactly what I was looking for however, I get nervous because I have a habit of buying things then changing my mind.  Trying not to look at any dresses whatsoever!  lol.  Here is my dress:

I have lost some weight but I want to lose about 15 - 20 more. I want to wait for my dress shopping until I do.  I was going to go to Davids Bridal this summer and get a dress from there because I want to spend less than $1000. If that was the case I would be getting it off the rack and wont have to worry about ordering.
However my Aunt so sweetly told me she was going to buy my dress and she wants to look at some local bridal salons.  If that is the case then I have to order one and I will start looking in April I think.
I really want to try on ALfred Angelos Belle dress Style 206 but its $1300 before alterations and I dont know if I can bring myself to let her spend that kind of money on a dress.  I am only 5 feet tall so I would need it ordered in a petite size and probably still have it shortened.  On top of that I would want to take some of the tulle out from underneath so that its more A-LIne than ballgown.  I dont want to look like a floating head with a huge dress swallowing me.  The alterations will make that dress just too much to spend.

I too was worried about looking like a head on a dress, I'm only 5'3.  The styles I found that I liked were fit and flares (yes and I'm a curvy girl as well LOL) and a-lines.  The ballgowns made me feel like a marshmellow because of my height and curves.

I was going to go try dresses on this week at David's Bridal but decided to wait. I know the style I want but plan to wait until I lose the 40 pounds I want to lose first.

Well good luck with that!  Dieting is hard but you feel fantastic when you start buying smaller clothes.  I have dropped 40lbs  I would ideally like to drop 20 more but I am in no rush to do it.  I did weight watchers.

Thank you so much.  I havent been strict in awhile so I have been bouncing 6lbs up and down.  The first 2 weeks are always the hardest.
I want to stick to it more strictly but I think I have gotten too content with where I am to worry. I went from a size 14/16 to a 6.  I did it mostly to be healthier (and my FI sister started and I didnt want to be a bigger size than her.  I know thats horribly shallow.  Sue me.)

MaryGraceRich...that is awesome!!!  Def something to be proud of!!!  And its not shallow.  FI sister is the size of my pinky, I could only wish.  LOL.  Even if I did drop a ton of weight, I'd still be curvy LOL.

I think curvy girls are more attractive then completely skiiny. Not to say that thinner girls arent beautiful because they are I just think a little curve is a good thing.  Although my curves may make me a bit biased. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-tongue-out.gif" border="0" alt="Tongue out" title="Tongue out" />

I can't wait to dress shop.

I am so tempted to go shopping, but I'm going to -try- and wait until at least the summer to start actually going and looking. But who knows if I'll be successful. Oi. lol

I went shopping today (just to look) and turns out the dress I thought I wanted (first post in this thread) doesn't look as good as I thought it would. I tried on Allure 8919 and really liked that one too. Now I'm just confused :(

Thats rough but I hear that it is common.  A lot of people find a pic of a dress they really love and most of the time it turns out to not be the one.  I have been obsessing over Alfred Angelos  Belle dress style 206.  I am probably not even going to bother to try it on because I dont really want to spend over $1000 and i dont think it will look right on me.
I hope your confusion eases.  I am sure you will find something awesome and if you have already found it, you will figure it out.  I am sure of it!

That's exacty what happened to me!  I tried on all these dresses that I loved in pictures but didn't like them on me.  My consultant pulled the dress I bought because she thought I should try on a different style and I was sold.

The problem with the Allure 2510 was the gathering under the belt. It just added volume to my stomach area that wasnt flattering. With the 8919 the seam at the waist was flat and much more flattering on me.

The consultant brought out a-line dresses because that's what I asked for, but only Allure nes. I think when I go back I'll ask to see different designers in my price point. My problem is that I have a petite uppper body, a bulge-y lower stomach, and a short torso so natural waist a-line dresses are really the only style that's flattering. I hope that my next shopping trip goes better.

I would say try Alfred Angelo and Maggie Sotterro.  Both are great designers and have similar designs to Allure and very figure flattering.

Hello ladies! New here... Sales lady "mistakenly" put me in this Victor Harper which is $3400 when my tip top was $2000. I'm in love with it and can't afford it. Cry
