Just checking in :-)

Hi ladies,

I just wanted to check-in, it's been a while since I've been able to stop by this page. Congratulations to all the newly married knotties, from what I've seen so far everyone's wedding looked amazing!!

It's kind of crazy to think that in a little over 3 months FI and I will finally be married! It's been a long time coming and I'm so thankful. I dropped my dress off for alterations this past weekend and I LOVE Jacquie! Not much for chit-chat, but the focus and attention to detail she displayed made my heart sing. After Yelping the suggested tailor from the bridal shop I almost had a heart attack, but thankfully I found Jacquie and I know without a doubt my dress is in fabulous hands.

My mom hit me with the "you should get married here instead of HI" speech....after all this time telling me she was fine with it....but after truly seeing what it would cost and the stress it was causing me she changed her mind and agreed HI was the best for FI and I. For about 3 days I got to experience traditional wedding stress and no thank you. I gave it the good ol' college try and even planned a wedding (I had a spare idea in my head anyway lol), but things were just the same as it was before we planned for HI and so we stuck with HI. Dodged that bullet thankfully.

FI and I move into our new place July 1st and we are so excited to finally be back living together. It's also great that our home will be settled when we get back from HI rather then still trying to unpack and such.

We had an amazing date last night, my heart is full to bursting :-). Life is good, work is good, love is great and I am happy. What more could a lady want?
I hope all of you are having a wonderful day, week, month, year! Happy almost weekend ladies Laughing

Re: Just checking in :-)

  • So glad to hear things are going well. I don't think any of the ladies here have regretted choosing Hawaii as their wedding destination. Looking back after almost a year after our wedding, picking Oahu was a phenomenal decision and we are so happy to have made it. Aloha. :)
  • yeah!!!!!!!!!!! doesnt it feel so great to be in love :)
  • Hi and thanks for checking in, don't for one moment regret your choices.  Can't wait to see what your dress looks like.  I just picked mine up from the alterations lady yesterday and I can't be happier with what she has done with my dress. Now just a week more and I'm off to Maui.
  • Glad you are checking in! Never have we regreted our choice to marry in HI. The only thing we regret was moving our date but it was for the best and gives us more time.
@Allison, If I could have checked "like" on your post I would have. :')
  • I wouldn't or a minute change going to Hawaii.  My Mom was iffy too at the beginning, just cos she's never been to a DW before.  She loved it and you will love it too.  Enjoy every minute you have left cos it's all over too fast.

  • Thanks for all the love and support ladies, I truly do appreciate it! I was still feeling a little guilty, but my mom reassured me she is ok with it after looking closely at everything. I'm over it now and starting to get that panicky/excited feeling.  Everyday I looking at at least one wedding video from our vendor's site and my heart melts/thumps like crazy. Just thinking that ours will look as amazing as the examples on the site gives me goose bumps!

I'm going to start shopping for HI clothes July 5th when everything goes on sale. Well the first thing I will buy is FI's wedding band. His only requirement is that it has a straight edge b/c he saw this guy use his ring as a beer bottle opener and he wants to do that too, men LOL. That's fine with me as long as he doesn't break it doing so. Sounds like we're getting him a titanium ring to me :-)

Ok ladies, back to work I go. Enjoy your day
