What's the best bakeware?

I am having a hard time deciding what bakeware to register for?  We are registering at Target and Bed Bath and Beyond.  We have the options of Wilton UB3 and Kitchen Essentials from Calphalon at Target and Wilton Indulgence, Calphalon Classic, and Chicago Metallic from BBB.  My only experience is with AirBake cookie sheets which always seemed good to me.  I like to bake so I'd like a pretty complete set.  Any suggestions or experiences with these?  Thanks!

Re: What's the best bakeware?

  • I'm a fan of Calphalon, I also like the Food Network stuff, I think their stuff is at Kohls though, but they may have it at Target and BBB as well.
  • I like the Wilton Indulgence, but the person who walked us around for our BB&B registry said the Calphalon Classic is really good quality as well.  She actually suggested that we register for the Calphalon, because apparently according to her it's higher quality or some such thing.
  • I have a lot of calphalon and they seriously are the best pans ever!! Everything I owned before this was just not as good in my opinion. Everything I have baked seems to slide right off the pan when done, bakes evenly, and the clean up is super easy (because nothing sticks!). I know they are expensive, but they are so worth it. I would at least register for the calphalon cookie sheets, muffin pans, and cake pans. Wilton is pretty good too (and it is the cheaper option).
  • We registered for the Cephalon Kitchen Essentials at Target and even though it's still in the box, I was told by my MOH after I opened up various packages at the bridal shower that the Cephalon is really high quality and she was jealous - in a good way.  Obviously I don't want her to be jealous - but she is an incredible cook and formerly owned her own wedding cake/baking business out of her home, so I took it as a compliment that I got something she considered high quality.  I also liked that they have 5 piece sets at Target, and individual pieces.  I was actually happily shocked that we got both bakeware sets, and individual pieces.

  • I like calphalon because I bake a lot and their pans don't warp nearly as much as my wilton ones have in the past.
  • Williams-Sonoma's Goldtouch is awesome--nonstick and bakes evenly
  • Are there specific calphalon pans that people would recommend (I know they have different lines) or are you good to go with any calphalon bakeware?
