No sleep!

I'll take any advice I can get. I have not had a good night's sleep in months! I've tried everything --> drinking warm milk, taking a hot shower, reading.
Anyone ever have this issue?

The problem tends to vary...sometimes I can't fall asleep for hours, other nights I fall asleep quickly, but I can't stay asleep. If something doesn't start helping me soon, I'm going to be going to the doctor about this (which I'm trying to avoid). Sleeping pills are too much for me....they knock me out and I'm groggy for days.

TIA!

First of all....is this really an Attention Whore post? haha weird.

Try Melatonin.  You can get it at most vitamin shops or grocery stores in the vitamin aisle.  It's something your body naturally produces, but the pills just give you a bit more.  I've found them to be very helpful, and I don't wake up groggy or with a "hangover" like I would with most sleeping pills.

Attention whore-- /> I only put that because I did kind of sound like I was whinning and...I'm just weird like that :-)

I was going to suggest Melatonin also.

I heard an interview with the chick from paramour (spelling?) this morning on 106.1and she said that there is a drink you can buy to help you settle down for sleep called "drank"  and it has melatonin in it.  Dunno if it works though haha

Is it normal to have a hard time sleeping after the wedding?  I've been having a hard time sleeping and when I do go to sleep, I am tossing and turning but I have been having bad dreams as well since the wedding.

    Shortgirl,
I had a hard time sleeping after the wedding, too.

I like Tylenol Simply Sleep.  I don't usually have a hangover when I take it.

Yep, this has bascially been going on since we got back from the honeymoon. I toss and turn all night. DH and I didn't live together before we're married and I've never shared a bed with anyone, so I think this may have something to do with it.
I'm going to check out the melatonin and see how that works. Oh and that sleepy time tea too! Fantastic idea. If I can keep my solution herbal, I'll be very happy.

That's funny, I think I have the opposite problem. After sleeping next to FI for three years, I've had the worst sleep while I've been alone in Nashville. And the last couple of weeks I've been very stressed and I feel like I've hardly slept at all. I will see if I can find some melatonin and try that.

I have a very hard time sleeping in general.  I've tried it all.

Simply Sleep still gives me the "hangover" feeling--plus I never recommend Tylenol.

Valerian is another herbal sleep aid--stronger than Melatonin but you might try it if the Melatonin doesn't work.  Valerian gives me nightmares, however.

I don't like the teas as much because I don't care for hot tea in general unless I'm sick.  But they do work, just not as good as other stuff.

Sometimes I take a half of one Benadryl and it works well also.  I take this in the fall/winter when I have allergies.

    Stephie,
Why don't you take Tylenol?  As a sufferer of migraines and sinus pain, I have found that it's the only thing that works for me.

I think they are worried about extensive use of Tylenol causing liver damage...I've only heard a little about it, but I found this article

    http://www.medicinenet.com/tylenol_liver_damage/article.htm

Depends on what is exactly "extensive" though

    Marissa,
I didn't read it but I imagine that extensive means that they gave a rat four pills every hour like in the artificial sweetner research.

I keep hearing conflicting reports on if it's acetamenophin or ibuprofen.  Ibuprofen has never worked for me though.  I even had an allergic reaction to the prescription strength ibuprofen.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I just try and take whatever I need as little as possible.
