Lanterns, candles, and hooks

I'm looking for inexpensive candle lanterns, floating candles and shepherrd hooks.  Any ideas?

Re: Lanterns, candles, and hooks

  • The least expensive hooks are from dollar tree- but the only are there seasonally, early in the spring. We are using mason jars. Made handles with twine ( martha uses metal wire which is a good idea if using real candles) to hang jars fro the hooks. We are then using submersible electric candles, and putting baby's breath in the jars for a pretty flower latern.
  • Ikea has great lanterns reasonably priced.  I got really nice ones for $4.95 a piece.  I also bought battery operated tea lights becuase we cannot have fire at our outdoor reception.

I've used The Paper Lantern Store a couple of times. I loved the prices and products. I'm going to us them again for my gazebo lanterns.

  • Check out Hobby Lobby's website, here is the direct link to their metal lanterns:

I am hanging lanterns from shepards hooks to extend my aisle out and I found mine at the local Hobby Lobby store.  They run sales all the time 50 percent off, so I had been purchasing them during their sales.

This is our lantern choice, I got them on sale for $7.99

  • I forgot to add that some rental companies have shepards hooks, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on hooks so I rented some for $2.00 each at a nearby events rental company, so if you have one nearby I would check with them too.

  • I have had some great luck lately for our tent reception! I found shepards hooks to line the aisle with for 50% off so I got them for $2.50 each. Then I went to big lots and got generic mason jars for $7.00 for a dozen, best prices I have seen on any site i searched. You can order candles in bulk at hobby lobby or michael's. Also try amazon.com, I have had some great luck there lately with crafty stuff, good luck!
