FROM DAYTON - FRIEND WANTS TO GET MARRIED ON LAKE ERIE - HELP/ADVICE

My best girlfriend wants to be married on a beach on lake erie. Need any advice I can get on places!  She is pretty much open for ideas, but I think preferred a bed and breakfast kind of atmosphere.  Also would love a location she could have ceremony and reception but isnt required for the right place.  Oh and she wants September 2011!  thanks!

    rose cafe at lakeview beach is not a bed & breakfast, but it's right on the beach! you can have your ceremony on the beach and then the reception is literally right there overlooking the beach. it even has a cool balcony overlooking the beach. lots of rose gardens around too for beautiful pictures. 

    my brother and sister in law had their reception there last august. they wanted to have their ceremony on the beach too, but decided not to since the "back-up plan" for rain was inside the reception area, but would have had my sister in law coming out of an elevator! so, they got married in a church and had their reception there. good thing too, cause it rained on their wedding day! :( but the beach is gorgeous, and the reception hall is very lovely too (and the food was yummy!!!). it only holds about 150 though.

    How about the Lodge at Geneva State Park? They have a gazebo overlooking the beach and can do receptions inside. She could also do Sawmill Creek. That also has a site that overlooks the lake. Those are both larger resorts rather than B&Bs, but maybe they could work. Good luck!

    How many guests? I know of a couple B&Bs but they can't handle huge weddings.

    I was going to say the Lodge in Geneva as well....it's more pricey but it is BEAUTIFUL!! 

    On a cheaper budget is the perry community center.  It sits right on a cliff over the lake.  They can get married on the cliff and have the reception in the center....it was a nice center too.

    Another option = though I don't know pricing....is the Shorbey Club in Bratenahl.  I was there for an art showing befor and it was beautiful with a personality of its own and it is right on the lake.

    Olde RIver Yacht Club outside of downtown Cleveland does weddings, not on the beach but overlooks the water & marina...
