Dealing with sweat...

I never used to have any issues with too much sweat, but lately it seems like the minute I start doing heavy cardio it just starts pouring...it's gross.

It's super distracting to be in a group class and have to constantly be wiping at my eyes/forehead because the sweat keeps getting in my eyes.

My question to you guys is - how do you combat the sweat? Is there an amazing headband/sweatband out there that helps prevent sweat from getting in your eyes? Please recommend your favorite method/product to solve this!

Re: Dealing with sweat...

  • Does it stay in place throughout a vigorous workout, or do you feel like it slips?

  • I'm super sweaty, and I just deal with it.  If I'm lifting, I'll have a towel near me, but a lot of the time, it just is what it is.  I do get sweat in my eyes, but most of the time I end up wiping more forehead before it gets in my eyes.

I literally get teased at Crossfit for using so much chalk because my palms get so sweaty!
  • EMBRACE IT!!

The fitter you get, the more your bosy sweats. When you start working out, it basically says, "oh CRAP HERE SHE GOES!!" and gets a jump start on the sweating because it knows how intense you are. Take it as a compliment from your boy and embrace it!!

Or just roll your eyes and call me a hippie ;)

Also,  lululemon tops hide my sweat well, but the hair/face thing is just one of those things I deal with. I have a great absorbant towel for that.
  • I just deal. A little sting in the eyes every now and then while I'm working out doesn't bother me. The only time I do anything about it is during spinning. I bring a towel for that, but otherwise I don't mind it. Honestly, if I'm not sweating I don't feel like I'm working hard enough. The sweatier the better!

  • Oh, I totally understand that it's GOOD that I'm sweating, It's just sort of irritating. I was hoping more people would have ways to combat it dripping into your eyes while working out though.

Guess I'll be taking a look at that headband Stage suggested!

  • So do we all here sweat more than other women do, or do just all women sweat more than society thinks is supposedly attractive and acceptable?
  • Well I'm talking about an actual increase in my sweat production - I was extremely overweight when I started exercising and I've noiced that I sweat significantly more now that I'm in better shape. I could give less a cr@p what society thinks about my sweating one way or another.

I believe all of us are approaching this as a fitness thing, not a "dainty woman" thing.
