Vintage style wedding ideas....help!

I'm crazy about the vintage style weddings but needings some ideas.  Wedding date is September 1st and haven't nailed down the location yet but thinking about this old plantation home.  All I know for sure is date, evening wedding, thinking I would like to use oil burning lanterns and men are wearing light brown or tan suits with the braces.  I need ideas and colors bad!!!  I know there are some wonderful ideas out there.... throw them at me!  Not really set on a specific decade but really seem to like the 1920-30's the most!

Re: Vintage style wedding ideas....help!

  • I am using the vintage theme as well along with an outdoorwedding. I chose all shades of white and such lots of ivory, paler beiges, golds, tans etc, I also am using a few pops of black and a pale pink. Victorian broaches adorn the cake and my bridesmaids bouquets... I am also using a lot if fine china from relatives all from that era. A beautiful chandelier At the guest sign in and prisms accompany lights in the trees.. I also found a lot of Victorian light posts and such.. you can find a lot if goldmines in antique stores, garage sales etc.. or just rummage through the attic for some personal touches.
  • Also if you really want the flashy look if the 20s throw a few feathers in the centerpieces, or make the guest sign in table totally unique with old cigarette holders feathers flapper fringe on a table ...
  • I found a great website that provides inspiration images of vintage themes and where to purchase the products to make it happen. Check it out and hope it helps you!

  • To the left there is a "Wedding Theme Board". There is a vintage board on there and the ladies are very nice and helpful.
  • janegoodey - apparently you missed the pesky little part of the terms of service where vendors arent allowed to advertise on the boards.  How can you trust a vendor who can't follow rules?  All of your posts advertise the website in your post.
