NWR: Confession

If someone at work is out sick or has a family member pass away, our admin assistant normally will send out an email and include the person's home address so that people could send cards to them if they'd like.

Is it weird that when this happens, I always pull up a google street view of the address so I can be nosy and see what their house looks like???

I'm a total creeper today!

  • If that makes you a creep then count me in the creep party.

I had the best time house hunting because I got to legally go into strange peoples' houses and see how they decorated, arranged their rooms, etc etc etc.

To be fair, you really go house hunting to see the layout of the house and the inner workings, but when people still live there, their sh*t is still in the house so you can be nosey and check it out at the same time hahaha

  • FI sells clothes on ebay and sometimes he will google an address to check out the person's house.  Like if they live in a huge city that usually has expensive houses.

  • I look up people alll the time on the auditor to see how MUCH they paid for their house.

We went to a party at one of FI's friend's houses and I totally looked em up to see how expensive their home was after we left.

  • k888 - that has to be one of the biggest pluses to being a real estate agent.  I love being nosey like that.  I also google all of our clients' houses who make tons of money.

  • Lol when I was house hunting, I went to an open house at a condo. The realtor apologized as I was walking through because the Sellers didn't "declutter" as much as they'd hoped. The bedroom was a mess with clutter and mail on the dressers, and a pack of BCP just chilling out on top of it!

  • Ok I have a similar confession. My casual high school FB friend and her husband bought a house and posted a pic on fb. I saw an address number and knew the city and area it was in so I googled until I could figure out the whole address. Then I found it's real estate listing. And how much it cost.

I totally look at Zillow too. We did that for fiance's boss's beach house - according to Zillow, they paid 2.9 million in 2004.

  • Oh I also totally look up on all the deed websites to see how much everyone bought their houses for.  That is all 100% public information (at least in Mass / NH)

I'm with you on this one. Ecspecially when we have NASCAR teams stay with us, I always creep on the team owners house, because we need to get their address, etc.
