Gobo Monogram Light??

Anyone know of an inexpensive company that offers reasonable gobo monogram lights?  I want to have one project above the head table at my reception.  I already have my DJ and photographer booked and neither of them offer that type of add-on.

You will actually need two different things for this.  First, the gobo light, and then a gel with your monogram cut out of it.

As far as where to get one that is inexpensive, I have no idea.

This is from my research.  I haven't actually used any of these yet though.  I will be using Platinum Mix:

    • Light Mike: Basic Gobo- $130, Advanced- $145, Premium-$160, Elite-$180
    • Colonial Event (rent the Gobo, they make the gel though): $50 to rent Gobo fixture, $124 for custom Gobo slide
    • Platinum Mix- $150 for the Gobo
    • The Lighting Guy- $150

I am the owner of <strong>LightMike.net Event Lighting</strong> in Warren, MI that "<a style="background-color:#ffffff;border:0px;font-size:12px;margin:0px;outline:0px;padding:0px;vertical-align:baseline;font-family:Arial;" href="http://www.theknot.com/profiles/mrsbunyip/wedding-planner/favorites" target="_blank" class="username_knot"><strong><font color="#800080">mrsbunyip</font></strong></a>" mentioned in her post. <strong><u>I would like to clarify as to what you will need:</u></strong>
<div><strong><font color="#000080">- A Gobo Projector</font></strong></div><div><strong><font color="#339966">- Custom Gobo</font></strong> (which is the metal stencil-like design that light will pass to shine on a wall, floor, or ceiling)</div><div><strong>-<font color="#ff6600"> A "Gel"</font></strong> is a special plastic sheet that adds a specific "color" to the whole monogram. Most brides tend to just go with no gel so they don't sacrifice in light ouput.</div><div>
</div><div>*Any bulb inside the projecor <strong>lower that 250watts will hardly be noticable</strong>. To shine on a <strong>medium to dark hardwood dancefloor you would need something 575watts or greater</strong>. <font color="#ff0000">These get extremely hot in seconds & should only handled by a lighting professional</font>!!</div><div>
</div><div>Now, most lighting companies won't come and set up for just a lighted monogram because there is not much of a markup on them. Also, although monograms look great on a dance floor...think about how long you will really see it? Let's hope you have a great DJ & everyone is on the dance floor..Right? It would be shinning on your guests while they are dancing. </div><div>
</div><div><strong>We always suggest shinning your monogram on a blank wall</strong>.. especially behind the Head Table, Cake, or any other area that will be visible the WHOLE night. You will notice it showing up in your pictures a lot more. Otherwise you spent $150+ for only the first hour.</div><div>
</div><div><strong><font color="#800080">Our Digital Monogram Service</font> utilizes a high-powered HD wireless projector & computer software</strong> so you aren't stuck with the same design the whole night. We can even add animations & a Grand Entrance Show for the Bridal Party!  <font color="#ff0000">I hope this helps! :)</font></div><div>
