PSA: For anyone using calla lilies in your bouquet...

I wasn't sure if this was common knowledge or not. I just thought I would share my SIL's experience with calla lilies at her wedding. She had an all white calla bouquet and about 5 mins before the wedding, it rubbed against her dress. The pollen from the little inside part got on her dress and stained it. She was horrified! The Tide pen did an ok job of covering it up but you could tell she was still very upset.

For this reason I have decided to not use calla's in my bouquet even though I really really want to. So for anyone who decides to use them, be very careful when holding / carrying your bouquet to not get pollen on your dress.

    Oh wow. Thanks for this. I'm totally using calla lillies for everything in my wedding. Its like our theme.

    Such a beautiful flower. I totally wanted to originally use them in my bouqet like this (minus the silly pearl sprays).

    Thanks for the tip! We are DIY-ing the bouquets using the real touch flowers, so I won't have to worry about that, lol

    Take a tissue and pull off the pollen before you get dressed. Don't use your fingers or they will be yellow.

    You can do this on arrangements also, so that the yellow pollen doesn't get on your furniture.

    I have heard this about all lilies which is why we aren't using any.
