Hampton Roads Venue Help! Want Water Views

I love would to get married somewhere with the water in the back ground and you would think living in a place that is surrounded by it that would be easy. Any venue ideas out there? It can be on the peninsula or the southside doesn't matter to me. Thanks!

  • There are plenty of hotels in Va Beach that have ballrooms on the water.  The Cavalier (the newer building) is a good one. Also in Va Beach, there are a couple of locations that are on the Lynnhaven Inlet. I have been to Lesner Inn and it's a pretty venue.
In Norfolk, check out Half Moone Cruise Terminal and the Hermitage. You might also consider the Renaissance hotel in Portsmouth.

    Good luck with your planning!

  • I'm not from the area, but am having my wedding in VA Beach this Saturday... I looked at at least 30 Venues and the nicest on the water (I thought) was the Half Moone cruise & celebration center...
  • My fiance and I wanted the same thing and decided on renting one of the big beach houses out at Sandbridge Beach. That way we could accomadate guest and give ourselves a small honeymoon after everyone leaves. We are doing the ceremony on the beach and the reception at the house. Only drawback is if you are planning a large event due  to the fact that they have  a strict people limit on the property at all times including vendors and guests. But for the beach you can have 150. Hope this helps
