Reception Dinner Costs

Does anyone know which type of dinner costs more? Seated, buffet, or stations?

Re: Reception Dinner Costs

  • usually seated costs more.  if you want carving stations then usually extra costs because someone has to be there to carve meat

Yeah that's what I thought, thanks!
  • I've been pricing this out a lot, and I've found it really varies quite a bit - generally seated costs a little more, but I've seen places where it's less. Most places I've looked at, it really varied based on what you want. Generally, a simple buffet (1 meat, 1 pasta, 2 sides, and a starch) will be cheapest, but I think most folks want to offer more variety, and once you do that it completely depends on what you add.
  • I thought the buffet costs more. They have to cook more food with plated there is a specific number. But it probably really depends on the venue and caterer they use. I have seen some outrageous prices for plated meals.
