Venues that allow DIY food HELP PLEASE!

My fiance loves cooking and really wants to make the food for our wedding. The problem is we are having a really hard time finding a venue that will allow her to cook. We are looking for something classy in the central Ohio area that isnt a church. Please Help!!

*Edit* We are inviting roughly 200 guests and our wedding is on a Wednesday in December.

You'll have better luck posting this on your local board, you can find it on the left side of the page under Local Boards. This board is an international one, so the brides on here wouldn't have a solution for you.

    Best of luck!

I know of a lot of nice venues that allow you to bring in your own full-service caterer, but I'm not sure about just bringing your own food.  How many people are you expecting to have?

Swim and Racquet Club in UA off Kenny Rd. You can bring your own alcohol too. $500 rental, no tax or service fees. We looked there and really liked it, although we went with a different option where catering was included.

I am having my reception at the American Legion Hall in Westerville, we are bringing in a caterer but there is a full size kitchen available there including dishes (again something we are getting from our caterer instead) but there is no requirement that you have to use a caterer so this could possibly work for you.

I'm pretty sure North Bank Park lets you bring your own food. I'm sure the ladies having their wedding there could probably verify this, but I was told when we looked into for our rehearsal dinner the main building seats 80ish and you can set up a tent just outside to cover the rest of your guests. Here's the link for a pic and more info:http://parks.columbus.gov/Facility.aspx?id=27785.  There are several other places owned by Columbus Parks and Recs on this website under "facilities" and I'm pretty sure you can bring your own food. Goodale Park and Audubon Park both have enclosed shelter facilities that look classy.

i just want to mention that it may be a very bad idea for your fiance to cater her own wedding. perhaps she could cook for the rehearsal dinner or prepare a sweets table for the reception, but she should NOT be cooking on her wedding day. just an alternate opinion...take it or leave it.

North Bank Park definitely allows it, but you may have too many people even with the tent.  I'd still call and ask.  The Bryn Du Mansion in Granville and the Sanctuary in Gahanna both do as well.

Try the Olde Gahanna Sanctuary - they pretty much have no rules

Check out your local civic centers, American Legion Hall, etc. That's what we did, and our reception venue is costing us $200!!!!! That's a fraction of most reception venue prices. This includes access to a kitchen for whoever does our food, and the place has a room for dining that opens up onto the dance floor.
  • off the top of my head I can think of 3 -  Big Room events, Upper  Arlin gton swim and raquet club, and Gahanna Sanctuary,
