Cake average?

Here's the deal for my cake I painted a mural in a friends house of my MOH and then the the friend was trading me back her talents of her cake business. I have done it many times as an artist trade my talent for yours. So I never would have thought after telling me yes for over 4mo, me painting the mural in her house, she wouldn't have flaked. Well see did so now I am on the hunt. I did a cake tasting yesterday. I am not much of a frosting person so when i was done my stomach turning for all the sugar. I am defiantly not tasting everyone like yesterday. Blah. Anyhow I have now been quoted $3.95 a slice, $3.50 a slice and $3.15 a slice. Is this average? These are all local bakers I have seen a few at of home wedding cake people in the area but I don't want to bother if this is average. I called Renton tech but they were booked :(  Everywhere else charges HEFTY rental fees to deliver to orting.

Isnt there someone from enumclaw or buckley? If so where are you getting your cake done?

Try CJs Bakery in Black Diamond. They're awesome and I think fairly reasonably priced.

Those sound average to me unless you go with a grocery store or cupcakes.

i think that price is close to average...my cake with kelli was 700 for 250 people....and that's with a discount of like 10% or something.

Kelli is roughly in that price range. I want to say it was like $3.25 or $3.50/slice. I met with other vendors who were quoting me up to $6/slice. Some vendors charge more for flavors that are in demand or use expensive ingredients.

Safeway quoted me 2.50 a slice, if you want to go the grocery store route.

Wow, how LAME of your friend to back out NOW!! Lord Alyssa, if anyone needed Knottie vibes, it's you!! How many freaking vendor issues is that now? :(

    My flavors are:
lemon cake with lemon and cranberry mousse
chocolate cake with chocolate and marionberry mousse
mocha cake with hazelnut and raspberry mousse

Seems like popular flavors are frequently lemon and carrot cake at the very few weddings I've been to.
