Hull Ceremony Site ideas

So, I just got word that our planned ceremony site is not going to work.

Originally planned to have wedding on pier infront of SeaDog Restaraunt.  But Pier is owned by town.  We were told it was never an issue to get permit.  I called in Jan and they said oh, we need to weight test the pier but you have plenty of time and are good, send in a letter for permit.  I sent letter but never heard back.  After calling and leaving messages with no response, i finally got someone to tell that  they aren't going to weight test it any time soon.

So...I need a plan B.

Anyone know any non church locations in Hull MA for Sept 1 2012 for approx 100-120 people roughly around 3 -5pm?

I am hoping there is a small beach, park, historic site, barn, porch, something, that we can find.  I am open to close to Hull with small travel for guests, but not farther than 30mins or so.

I am open to all ideas, even slightly odd, creative etc.

  • In front of the Hull Yacht Club is a grassy area that has a gazebo and could fit 100-120 people with views of the water. There is also Fort Revere that has a tower and an old fort with amazing views of Boston Light. I'm not sure how you would go about having a ceremony at those places though. Good luck!

  • Thanks!

I have an email out to the Yacht Club.  I haven't heard back yet.  I am assuming the gazebo etc is on their property?  If it is town I can contact them instead.

I will look into the Fort.

Just so hard to look for hidden gems when 8 hours away.

  • The Salt Water Club and Yacht Club are right next to each other so I'm not sure who owns the land. If you want a beach ceremony there are 7 miles of beach but I'm not sure if they would let you set up chairs for over 100 people. If those places don't work out there is a gazebo by the Hingam Bathing Beach which is about 15-20 minutes away. I've driven by weddings there.

There is a really pretty site/area in Cohasset - it is the replica of the minot lighthouse (the I Love You lighthouse). The ocean as well as a dock are right there. The Lightkeepers Inn is just above it and holds weddings about that size. Good Luck!

  • We got married on Sandy Beach in Cohasset.  It's owned by the Sandy Beach association.  No cost involved and you just need to request a permit from the association.  It's about 10 min from Hull.
  • Would any of those locations work for 180 people?  I am also looking for a ceremony site for next year and am struggling in the area
