In Laws Divorced Tuxedo Help

We are having a tux vest and tie color problem.

Groomsman are wearning black vest with black tie.

Grooms mother is wearing a purple dress. See below. Grooms father is no longer with mother. What color should he wear? Should he compliment his ex-wife because the photos will be taken with both parents in the photo. They are divorced but still get along really well.

    You could do just black and white tuxes for the dads like the guys in the wedding party.  It's a neutral so it won't clash with anything.

    Colored ties and vests/cummerbunds are very promish.  Fathers would look particularly silly in them.

    He can wear whatever he wants, although he should match the formality level of the bridal party.

    I'd let him wear whatever colour he wants.  Probably a tux since that's what the GMs are in.  Take him to the fitting or colour picking out at the suit rental place and let him pick a colour of tie that he likes.

    I wouldn't make him wear a purple vest/tie to match the MOG.
