AATB

Dude man, is it snowing up there?  It's totally snowing here.  And it's sticking.  I'm not ready.

Re: AATB

  • I hate the snow. If it snows in NC for Thanksgiving I'm gonna be so pissed I gave up time with H to be trudging through freezing snow.
  • Dude, uh, we have clear skies right now.

But ya know, the weather in No-Dak goes something like: if you don't like it, don't worry, wait ten minutes.  It'll get worse.

I know we are supposed to get *some* interesting weather in the next day or two though.  It got dramatically colder yesterday.

haha, we say that in MN too.  And we said it in Wisco.

Steph...um, come visit me?  And take it with you?  It's huge, wet flakes.  It's the gross sloppy stuff.  It started as rain, then sleet, now snow.  Blech.

    You jackass.  :)

I am still wearing ballet flats to work - with no socks.  It was 25 degrees this morning.  If it's not wet yet, I see no point.

I wore flip flops last night and this morning too, while going to our new place and back to mine.

We're not supposed to get snow until the 20th apparently. Normally, we'd have had a blizzard on Hallowe'en. There also isn't a low below -2C for at least 2 more weeks. What's happening?!

Ya'all are more than welcome to come visit me this winter. Since FI will be gone, I welcome the company. I've got two pools at my apartment complex and am about 15-20 mins away from the beach.

  • No, I've never been to the SoFlo board, Meg. I figured it wouldn't make sense since the wedding won't happen here anyway, so I don't need help finding vendors here. I ventured over to the SoCal board a couple times, but never posted there either. I'm caught between worlds, a gypsy bride haha.

I am right there with you and completely agree.  We just don't get away with nice weather for very long.  The shoe has to drop eventually.  I'm most worried that we'll get too much moisture again and next spring will be yet again another nightmare :(

[QUOTE]H used to regale me with tales of when he lived in Minneapolis and the nasty cold. So do construction guys/gals in Minn. really work outside during the winter or did H just want to impress me?

Yep.  They're expected to dress for the weather.  One reason why DH doesn't want to do residential or commercial plumbing, he'd have to do crap outside in the weather.
  • My ideal temps are between about 60-75.  I hate the hot, I hate the cold.  But I'd rather it be cold than hot.  But not snow.  Except on Christmas Eve. Then it has to melt the day after Christmas.  So if someone could find me a place to live that meets that criteria, that would be awesome.

  • See, I can live with snow (unless we get like, six feet at a time or something) if it's not freaking balls damn cold.  30 degrees below zero is effing cold!

That would be a great place. I was so shocked that it was in the 60's earlier this week, and it certainly didn't prepare me for snow. I actually do love snow, just not the temperatures along with it. I don't like snow in April though when its dirty and slushy, that shiit can go away.

  • I've lived in both extreme cold and extreme heat, and pretty much anywhere in between (Kodiak, AK, Seattle, WA, Honolulu, HI, Long Beach, CA, Miami, FL) and can honestly say that I do miss the white winters terribly.

In fact, I was watching Home Alone the other night while FI was taking a nap, and that's when I decided to go home for Christmas and surprise my family. Thank you, Kevin McAllister.
