How long did it take?

How long did it take to receive a proposal from your floral/decor vendor after your initial appointment (and followed up with any additional info you needed to get to them)?  I met with two vendors and have been waiting for what seems like forever.  Ugh!

I didn't vote, because both places gave us a rough estimate before we left the building.  I would not wait longer than 2 weeks though.

I left the consultation with the proposal.  Right down to the taxes and delivery charges.  So I voted under two weeks.

I did find florists to be slower in responding with a proposal than some of my other vendors, but the 3 I met with all got me a proposal in less than 2 weeks.

Thank you, all, for letting me know.  It's back to the drawing board.  Thank goodness I have a lot of time to get this done!  Whew ...

We visited with our flourist about 2 weeks ago and she gave us a guestamation on the spot.....we won't get to meet with her for our real cost until Nov. 1st...the only reason it's taking so long is she had an already planned vacation which was no big deal to us! :) We're willing to work with her because she's knocking off most of the delivery fee...our wedding is an hour away from the flower place...and it's all tax free because the flower place is on a military base.  I can wait the couple extra weeks =oP

I left my initial meeting with a rough estimate and by the end of the day had an email of the exact budget and contract.

I spoke with my florst over the phone and he had emailed me a proposal and sample contract by the next morning. Personally, I would avoid anyone that makes you feel like you're waiting forever. Do you want to deal with that kind of communication in the weeks right before your wedding??

I got mine before I left. Of course...I gave her my budget and *surprise* The total was $80 over but if I booked that day she'd take $100 off so it would be within in my budget. She seemed too scammy so I walked out.

We met with 2 florists and both gave us a proposal/quote/estimate before we walked out the door. Once we chose our florist, whenever I had any changes, she just updated the estimate each time and got right back to me.

I went to 2 florists.  One handed me the proposal before I left.  The other had emailed it to me before I even got home.  It should not take long for them to tally everything up.

I agree with the PPs. You should leave with at least an estimate. Unless you want flowers that are out of season or difficult to get, you should've had a proposal within a couple of days.

Nope ... thus the start for a new vendor.
