OOT bags- Seattle/WA-centric

I'm looking over my ginormous to-do list, and I noticed OOT bags (to leave at hotels or hand out the Friday before).

Did you do them or do you plan to do them?

If I do them, I want to stick a bunch of Seattle and/or Washington "themed" stuff, like stuff you would find at cute little Pike Place shops.  What do you think of when you think of Seattle or WA?

TIA!

Depends how much money you have, but Chako Cherries and smoked salmon (in cans or foil wraps) are things Id get. Oh, and Theo chocolate!!

I'm south of Seattle (Tacoma to be exact) and would go for Almond Roca and something that shows Mt. Rainier.  I do like the smoked salmon idea as well as Theo Chocolate (yummy!).

Other things that say "Washington" to me (disclosure - I'm second generation born - both parents born here):

    Pacific Ocean
    Evergreen trees
    Native American culture
    Ferries
    Applets & Cotlets
    Space Needle
    Mt. St. Helens (ash products)
Businesses started here: Boeing, Microsoft, Amazon, Costco

I know my sister who moved OOS 15 years ago says she knows she's home when she sees Mt. Rainier.

I am thinking I want to do them too for my oot guests when the time comes. I'm thinking they will include apples, some coffee(maybe not sbucks, maybe a local one),emaybe a bottle of wine from a winery in Woodinville, and definitely something space needle related. I'm not from around here, so I thought of things that spoke to me as a recent transplant.

OH! and I would probably include some Men's Room Red for those who enjoy beer in my family(I haven't tried it yet, so IDK how good it is) but my family would appreciate the joke becuase I constantly tell them how much I love listening to "the mens room" on my commute home from work.

all they need in this world is some love.

    Coffee!

I didn't do them but I think they are a cute idea. I would suggest chocolate covered coffee beans, trail mix, I saw somone above mentioned salmon tins, maybe go to Boem's chocolates in Issaquah and take a peek around at what they have. It all depends on your budget and what you can afford to stash away. I would also try and leave maps of the surrounding areas and maybe some tourist guide books/site seeing guides if you're not going to be with them the whole time. Maybe even transit help tucked into one of the books just in case they need it? From experience now, we were lucky, all my family flew in and rented cars, and followed us everywhere and I got to show them everything. But I don't know what your plans are going to be like.
    Good luck!

I'm not sure if I'm going to do them..one of those budget choices I'll have to make as it gets closer.

I would go to either "Made in Washington" or Washington store that I just can't remember the name of.  There are tons of ideas there, including Tom Douglas products.

Hopefully I can do this because I love Seattle and love sharing the many things that are great about it.

I have a friend who added copies of Seattle magazine ... he went to their offices, and bought them for less than half of the posted price.

Thank you for all of your wonderful ideas ladies!

I'm like 70% sure that I'll do them, just for OOT family who have never been to WA, I think.

Another suggestion, that doesn't fit with 'Washington-themed' but might be helpful to your guests are bottles of water. Depending on what hotel they're at, they might not be able to buy bottled water outside of their hotel room and then it's something ridiculous like 6-10 dollars a pop.
