Morning?

Anyone awake yet? My goal for the morning was to run a bunch of errands, but it's raining. (so much for 10% chance of rain.) That's enough to justify my laziness for the day ;)

Anything going on? I'm ready for fall weather.

Re: Morning?

  • Hah, I was typiong a morning thread too. Glad I refreshed the main page before hitting submit.

I'm going to try to do some excercise videos this morning and then we're going to an art festival. It's hard to do videos here since there is someone below us. FH suggested I set up a TV in the unused basement apartment and work out down there which is an awesome idea. Except we don't have a spare TV at the moment.

  • Celtic, that was always my problem when we lived in an apartment.  H has his work out room set up in our basement now, which is awesome.

DJ- are you feeling better? I have a friend from my month board that's been in a few times lately because she's still puking. :(
  • Take care DJ! Hope you start feeling better.

I gotta go to work in a few minutes but I hope everyone has a lovely day. I also am looking very forward to fall weather already.

  • Dj - I am glad they were able to get you hydrated.

The art festival is the largest one in the country. It's cool but I don't do well with crowds. We're going to go early to hopefully beat the worst of the crush. FH is going back tonight to see one of the bands but I think I'll pass on that.

  • Good morning
I'm sitting around trying to get motivated to clean something. I'm heading out in a couple of hours to have lunch with some friends and see Magic Mike. I'm pretty happy about that ;)

dj, I'm glad you're feeling better, the sickness part of pregnancy is the worst! One thing that I noticed while I was in the middle of the constant puking was it was a lot worse if I didn't get enough protein. So many foods just didn't sound appealing to me, and I wasn't getting enough protein. My Dr. suggested starting with a protein/breakfast bar, and it helped me tremendously. I was still nauseous, but I hardly puked at all after I started watching that.

  • I'm here, the phone woke me up.

DJ- I hope you're feeling better soon.

Today is puppy class, the brat just crapped on my kitchen floor! He made no signs he wanted to go out, ugh! We are thinking of making him do an over night at Camp Bow Wow before we leave on vacation in a few weeks, just to get him used to overnights. Steph what do you think?

    I need coffee!

  • I'm jealous DJ.  It's barely getting into the 70s here some nights, which is really weird for MN.  I think this weather would be more bearable if it would cool off at night for some relief. Our a/c has been on nonstop for at least a month. I think I've opened the windows ONCE. lame

and ditto dmills- protein! In first tri, I would force down a big spoon of PB right before bed which made a huge difference.
  • kd, when I was in SC and Fisher was still alive, I LOVED taking him to Camp Bow Wow. He did daycare there once a week, and when I'd do overnight trips on the weekends occasionally, I always left him there. He did really well, but I did the same thing. Left him for a trial one night while I was still close by, JIC. He was fine. Any time I'd say "wanna go to camp today?" he'd get all crazy excited and run to get his leash :)

  • KD- go for it if you can afford it!  Once in awhile we bring the dogs just for the hell of it so they stay comfortable with the place. They practically break out of the car when we pull into the parking lot, so they must love it.

Actually, we're bringing them next week one night. We have a hospital tour until 8pm so I wanted to leave them there for the day. But it's like $56 for just the day of daycare for the two... or $65 to board them overnight (which includes two full days of daycare too.) So, they get to sleepover ;)
  • I actually had on a sweatshirt yesterday, it was only 69.

  • Morning! I have absolutely zero things on the agenda today. I think I'll get crackin' on organizing the house.

I was just thinking last night that I am so done with summer right now. Monday-Friday, it would be nice to have cool weather, and then some sun on the weekends, haha. Yeah, right. But, I am looking forward to the change of seasons and it actually being somewhat cool out when I go running.

Oh, and it's not even lunchtime yet, but I'm seriously craving penne ala vodka for dinner. I've never made it before, but it sounds superb.

[QUOTE]Yeah, Steph. I was so sick of our AC running constantly. (This is our hottest summer ever or in like 100 years or something. Either way, hot.)

<div>Yup. They said on the news the other day that this is the hottest summer on record for MN. bah.</div>
  • Well hell my post disappeared.

Thanks guys, as the day goes on we may end up making an appt for an overnight. He is being a PITA this morning. Its odd when he pays any attention to the cat, he just starts peeing!

5 months. He does it in puppy classes as well. We noticed when there are other dogs in class he pees A LOT, when we were alone last week he only peed once when we arrived.

    He's weird!

  • Good Morning.

The damn rain went around us.  Again.  We're only at .7" of rainfall since June 1st and nothing but trace in July althogether.  We're usually at a 4" per month avg.  This sucks.  The whole town is brown and dry and I don't even like thinking about how bad the fields look.  Bah!

My niece is watching Snorks and Smurfs while I'm cooking up a sausage and "dipping eggs" breakfast.  Then we're off to the Farmer's market and regular market to stockpile for the week.  if it stays a bit cloudy, I'm going to introduce her to the driving range since she's expressed interest in golfing.

    Have a great day everyone!
  • I finished my workout which was made more difficult by my cat trying to "help." She was climbing under me and rubbing on my face while I am doing push ups. This makes the basement look even more appealing. Unfortunately it is used as shared storage so I could have a neighbor walk in on me. I don't even let FH see me work out, I'm too self conscious.

It cooled off some here too and we're getting rain. Aside from a few crazy storms it had been pretty dry here too.

  • Morning.  I'm not motivated to do anything today, which is okay since we have nothing planned.  I need to get some laundry started and make a grocery list.

We finished painting our bedroom and hanging the new fan this week, and we've moved almost all of our furniture in there.  I'm going to try to paint some artwork for above the bed.  I can't find anything I like, but the space needs something, so I'm going to attempt it on my own.  Probably a terrible idea.

Not a terrible idea. Go to Michaels and get some blank canvases and paint. You can always paint over a canvas if you dont like it. I found losts of ideas on Pinterest for this. Plus, just pretend your Jackson Pollack ;)
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
  • That's kind of the plan.  Canvas was on sale at the craft store by the house a few weeks ago, so I grabbed a few then.  I plan to just add paint until I don't hate it.  Very abstract.

I say it's a terrible idea because I'm probably the least creative/artistic person I've ever met.  All of my high school art involved straight lines and exact angles.  Drove the teacher crazy.  I'm too much of a perfectionist for art.

[QUOTE]Hey guys, question:  I'm supposed to go to a shower tomorrow (which I just remembered, yay). I'd have to drive an hour and a half on my own on to Chicago highways and through 4 toll roads ( I don't have one of those Ipasses) to get there, and I don't want to go.  The bride will be the only person there that I know. The same bride that won't leave us the heck alone.  Ugh, don't want to go, do want to be a responsible grown-up.

[QUOTE]Sorry, I guess the question is would you drive down Chicago highways and tolls alone to go to a shower for a bride that is currently annoying you a little because it's the nice thing to do, or blow it off and go wedding ring hunting to keep on your dad's good side?

We don't plan to be fully in until the 12th. I am pissed that his job will not let him take off next Saturday to work on some stuff in the house. </div>

<div>Ditto here. I'm really good at copying ideas/patterns too. ;) So pinterest works well for me. ha</div><div>
</div><div>Have you checked etsy? I found some awesome artwork on there; it can be pricey, but they're usually willing to customize. So if you find a print/pattern you like, you can ask them to match it to your colors.</div>

I've perused etsy a lot, Steph.  But didn't find quite what I wanted.  Probably because I'm not really sure quite what I wanted.

Here's one of the photos we've used as inspiration for the entire bedroom: (it's from our honeymoon...it seemed like a good idea to theme a bedroom after a honeymoon)

Here's the above-the-bed art I ended up with (it's still drying - this is a terrible webcam pic, so imagine it not as grainy, and as a mirror image)
