Is this too old for me?

I'm looking online for a dress to wear to a wedding in several months (I'm bored and plus I wouldn't be buying it now, just browsing). I like the idea of something with 3/4 sleeves and a portrait-type collar.

I'm 27 ... do you think a dress like this looks too "old" for me?

Yes, I think it is.  And if you look at the online reviews, many of the reviewers are in their 40s or 50s (and the one in her early 30s bought it for her mom)  -- which I'd imagine is the intended demographic.

    Hi,
I don't post much but had to respond to this.
This dress is stunning.  I am 29 (little older, I know!) but find this dress very classy and elegant.  I would definitely wear something like this. So no, this is not too old!  I would say it would be a bit much on a 12 year old, but not someone in her 20s.
I think collars are very classy and timeless.
    Just my opinion!

I'm gonna say yes, it's too old for 27 -- or even 37.  I'm right behind you (I'm 25) and I wouldn't wear it.  It reminds me of a MOB dress.

I actually don't think it is too old for you at all.    I think it is a cute dress and very classy.     I know I am a little older at 35 but I would have worn something like that several years ago.   You might want to try it on and see what it looks like on, but just from the pic I don't think it is too "old" for you at all.

I agree that you should go there and try it on. If it was shorter and you wore some sexy heels, then i think it would work. But then technically you may dress yourself out of proper "wedding attire." Also, is the wedding outside? Dress looks like its made of a thick silk or something. It may not breathe well in the warm spring/summer sun. You may be sweating pretty bad. Just a guy's point of vew Smile

These are good points!   Love the guy's POV!  LOL

I also was just thinking...it reallly depends on your style.  I am not sure what your normal style is so I am basing it on what I would wear, which could be totally different for you.  If that is something that is totally differnet that your usual attire it may be too "old' for you.

I think it depends on how it looks ON you.  You can always dress it up.  It's not something I would personally wear but if it's your style then I say go for it.

I think it can be cute, but the one review says the fabric is very thick. A winter wedding, sure, but not any other season.

I agree with this.  I do like the color though!

Definitely try it on, but maybe see if you can get some awesome earrings and maybe roll the sleeves up a little-  I think a little tweak would make it look a little more modern!

    Thanks all! :)

The wedding would be indoors in March (told you I was bored! :P). A friend of mine wore a style like this to my own wedding and I thought it was cute, so I want to look for that when I'm a guest for this next wedding. I'll try on dresses like this when the time comes.

    I appreciate the opinions!

I think it's cute, while maintaining a classic style.  Go for it!
