Limo etiquette

For those of you providing transportation for the wedding party from ceremony to reception:

We will have 8 in the WP including us, plus my personal attendant so that's 9. I'm planning to get a 12 or 14 passenger limo so we're not all squished in there.

Do I need to accomodate spouses and ushers?

    We're just having the wedding party. I think it makes it easier because then the spouses/bf/gf have a car at the end of the night for leaving the reception- and to get to the ceremony in the first place unless you provide them a ride there too. We're also going from ceremony -> pictures -> reception, so it works best with just the WP.

    That's what I kinda thought. We will be going to another location in between for a few pics, then head to the reception. Including just the WP would allow for the spouse/bf/gf to drive their own vehicle and have a car to leave with.....makes sense.

    I am including spouses/dates because I know how it feels to be a date and not know anyone while waiting for the bridal party to arrive. Also, the limo is picking us up at the hotel where we are getting ready and dropping us off at the reception venue only 6 blocks away from the hotel. So cars at the end of the night are not an issue.

    I can see your point about being a date and being kindof bored & alone. Our church is a 30 min drive from the reception & hotels so I feel the limo is kindof expected for the WP. I can think of 1 spouse that will kindof be by herself a bit, otherwise its family & friends that know each other so I think we'll be ok.

    We have 12 in the WP plus us, and we didn't want to do a party bus so the only other reasonable option is leaving SOs out. Almost all the SOs know each other and I'm sure they won't feel awkward waiting for ut.

    </div><div>This.  Are you using the limo just to transport from ceremony to pics to reception?  If so, then this makes even more sense because they will need somene to drive them to the ceremony and then drive home from the reception too.  If the ceremony and reception are in the same place, I'd ask them if they want to go in the limo at all.  I've been told I have to go in FSIL's limo that will simply drive us from our hotel to the ceremony/reception venue, and I wish she had asked us if we wanted to do that.  I would rather drive myself.

    We are only getting a limo for us.  We aren't doing transportation for the wedding party.  Mostly because we have 2 hours between ceremony and social hour, and it's a 30 minute drive, and we're doing our receiving line at the reception, so it makes sense to just have everyone meet us there. 

    If people get to the reception venue early, there's a bowling alley and restaurant/bar on the lower level, so they have places they can hang out at.
