Looking for affordable Bakers that are willing to do a tier of cake that is fake to save on costs.
We had our heart set on The Cake Lady but she will only do a small tiiered cake (10-8-6 inches) and than sheet cake.

    Bummer. I was gonna recommend The Cake Lady because I'm using her.  What do you mean by a fake cake?

    I'm saying if you want 4 layer cake, maybe the bottom layer is real and than the three layers above it look like cake but are strofoam maybe - than you have sheet cakes in the back. I've heard of this being done to cut on costs.
    I love the cake lady - her cakes are delish! Maybe I'll just do the smaller cake - who cares about the wow factor I guess

    I'm doing that with Rick's Bakery, LLC.  We're having a 4 tier cake, but only top 2 tiers are real cake, with sheet cake in the back as well.  I felt the prices were pretty reasonable, I think it came out to about $2.50 a slice total cost, and having 4 different kinds of cake.

    I would second Rick's Bakery. Sandy (the owner) is very nice, always responsive via email, and has excellent prices for excellent cake.

    I will be the third to chime in that I was impressed with Rich's.  Although at this point I think my sis & I are going to make my cake, I did contact them as a "back-up" for pricing & she provided estimates & it was very reasonable.  VERY easy to deal with and forthcoming with pricing.  It is who I will use if my sis & I decide to dump the cake idea.

    YES RICKS bakery is great! just booked them for the wedding and got a discount from purchasing dresses from DB. But she let us know about the fake tier opition. Not sure how much it is, but i know you can get as many fake tiers as you want and she decorates them how you want them. VERY good choice and delicious!

    I called Ricks and Sandy is so sweet. Her prices are almost to good to be true - We are booking them for our wedding. I can't wait to taste the cakes. Thanks for all the reviews:)
