February 11, 2012 flowers expensive?

I am debating whether i should choose 2-11-2012 or 3-3-2012 as my wedding date.
the internet said that flowers will be twice-to triple on dates closer to valentine's day. is this true?

    Shop around. My florist gave me a ton of flowers for <$1000.

    Also, there are certain flowers that will cost more (ie roses, calla lilies.) Do some Hydrangeas and other "in season" blooms to keep price down.

    maybe to avoid that you can get married early feb or late feb. don't get married close to valentines day.
