music help!

What are you using for tossing the bouquet/garter? I don't really even want to toss the garter, and certainly I don't want to do the awkward putting the garter on who catches the bridesmaid, so I think we are just going to toss and that's it.

What was your first dance song?

Any special songs?

Father/Daughter, mother/son?

What are MUST HEARS for you at a wedding? What will make you dance?

Re: music help!

  • Our first dance song: "I Won't Let Go" - Rascal Flatts

Walking down the aisle:  FI's cousin is a beautiful singer studying opera at Hartt School of Music so she is going to sing "Marry Me" - Train

Father/Daughter:  "My Little Girl" - Tim McGraw (most likely)

Mother/Son"  "Simple Man" - Shinedown (probably)

Our bridal party will be introduced to "Sexy and I know It" unless something else good comes out before that.
  • For our first dance, I believe we are doing "Heart of the World" by Lady Antebellum, The others are still undecided!

    Garter: Joe Buddens-Pump it up

What was your first dance song? My Valentine-Martina McBride & Jim Brickman (we got engaged on Valentine's day)

    Any special songs? Nope.

Father/Daughter: You belong to me-The Duprees (my Dad's fav)

I think the garter thing is super awkward. We're not doing it at all, but still doing the bouquet toss. We're leaving towards "It's your love" by Tim McGraw/Faith hill for our first dance.

  • Cocktail Hour Music: Songs by Vitamin String Quartet (They were recommended by my DJ, they do beautiful covers of songs ranging from Led Zeppelin to Journey to Lady Gaga) http://www.vitaminstringquartet.com/v2/

First dance: "Crush" - Dave Matthews Band
One of our slow dances: "Can't Help Falling in Love" - Elvis
Father/Daughter dance: We are planning to start with something slow, maybe a Springsteen song since my dad and I have been fans for years and gone to many of his concerts together and then break into a fast dance song!)

  • Our first dance song is Little Wing by Jimi Hendrix. Mother/son is yet to be decided but they are leaning towards a shortened version of Simple Man. Father/Daughter is still up in the air but we are leaning towards God Only Knows by the Beach Boys, or possibly something by Sinatra. (Beach Boys and Sinatra are my dad's faves..)

We aren't doing the bouquet/garter toss. Honestly I think they are both sort of awkward, even the bouquet toss...but maybe it's just because I have always felt awkward in the bouquet toss, myself! So we are skipping it alltogether. Also, this might sound stupid to people, but there's something about seeing a beautiful bouquet ripped to shreds that just rubs me the wrong way...maybe it's because my mom is my florist...so after all the hard work that she is going to put into my bouquet, I hate to see it get destroyed in front of her eyes! :)

  • Our First dance song will be Snow Patrol Chasing Cars.

Is it me or are the mother song songs on many lists not appropriate lol!

Aren't the toss boquets usually fake? At least they have been at the previous weddings I've gone to! I wouldn't want to destroy something so beautiful!
