Jr Groomsman gift - Help!

Hi everyone!  We have a "Jr" Groomsman in our wedding party (Groom's Nephew) - he is 11 years old... We are having trouble thinking of a gift idea for him that is not jewelry. (my FI doesn't want to get him any jewelry related item)... but we wanted it to be sort of a keepsake... anyone have any ideas??  TIA!!!!!

Ask his parents if there's anything off his Christmas list he didn't receive...or any other item he's been pining over.

Eleven is a tough age. He might be still in the phase where he likes toys...or perhaps he's image conscious and would love some designer t-shirts...or maybe he's a techie and would love an Itunes giftcard.

It really would be best to ask his parents.
  • Maybe an electronic app?
  • Shop for him like it is his birthday or Christmas.

Eleven year old boys could give two craps less about "keepsake" gifts.  In fact my 29 year old husband would give two craps less about "keepsake" gifts.  All they do is collect dust in a drawer over the years.  Get him something that he will actually enjoy and use.

  • I absolutely cringed when you used the word "keepsake."  He's a boy. He doesn't want a keepsake, I assure you.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

We are going to get my nephew (Junior groomsman)  who will be almost 8, basketball cards or something basketball related. There is no way he would want a wedding related keepsake. He likes basketball, he likes basketball gifts :)
  • Thanks everyone for the ideas... I think that is what we are going to do... something fun that he will enjoy... seems like the best bet!
